mayonnaise is mayonnaise (with any brand name) made from
milk eggs and other stuff and has a somewhat bland oily
taste.
Miracle Whip is a brand name that although has a great
deal of mayo in it, is actually a dressing for salads, sandwiches
and the like -- kinda like the difference in Catsup and Barbeque sauce

Being a former chef and having used both products, they are both emultions, were oil is add to an egg base to create a sauce, mayo is eggs, lemon juice, mustard, sugar and oil blended to a thick consistancy.
Miracle Whip is first a cooked product, they take sugar, vinegar and other product plus the eggs and make a base, and then like mayo oil is whipped in to form a thickened product.
As for the person that said one had carb and the other did not, as Miracle Whip is not a raw product, but then to commercial mayo is made with pasturized eggs were they are heat treated first, so it is not the same as making you own from raw eggs. To eliminate any problems you can warm the ingredients over a water bath first before adding the oil, similar to amking hollandaise sauce which is butter insead of oil.
