Call you vet to set up appointments. They know exactly when to have your pup come in. Some shots are needes immediatly, but some can wait for a few months. Your vet can help you set up which shots for which dates.

Puppies need vaccinations at
8-9 weeks distemper/parvo/canine hepatitis/adenovirus-2
12-14 weeks repeat
16-18 weeks repeat
and a rabies at 20 weeks or older.
A year from the date of last vaccination a booster is given then no more for 3 years of either vaccination.Yearly vaccinations are no longer recommended.
Vaccines given more then this is over vacciantion,
Lepto, parainfluenza, lyme and kennel cough (bordatella) should NOT be given to all dogs/puppies only those at high risk for exposure.
Coronavirus, adenovirus-1 and giardia vaccinations should NEVER be given to any dog/puppy.
Per current protocol from AAHA/AVMA and all 27 vet schools no vaccinations should be given to ANY puppy that has not completed their 7th week and preferably not until 8 weeks of age.Vaccinating earlier interfers with natural immunity, can suppress immune system and can predispose the puppy to the very illness the vaccine was meant to protect against.
For more info check out the AAHA site or Dr.Jean Dodds site. Also if possible get a November 2006 copy of the Whole Dog Journal. it has a wonderful easy to understand article on vaccinations.

Hello,
As a long time show breeder I give the following recommendation for a vacination schedule.
5 weeks, parvo only
8 weeks, distemper, hepatitis, parvo, corona
12-13 weeks, dhpc and depending on the breed,( I have 2), all leptos are included, except for my Chihuahuas. My German Shepherds receive all the lepto series.
17-18 weeks final dhlpc
*please note that some breeds cannot tolerate the lepto vaccine, its usually fatal to them. Breeds sometimes effected are Chihuahuas, Rottweilers*
Please consult your veterinarian.
I also start the Bordetella vaccine at around 3-4 months, 2 are needed for full immunity.
Rabies shots are given usally at 4 months.
After the series has been completed, a yearly booster is recommended for the dhlpc, bordetella.
Rabies, every 3 years.
Hope this helps and as a reminder, this is what I do and your veterinarian may have a different schedule set up for your individulal puppy/dog.
I do NOT believe in overvaccinating dogs as I have seen the tragic results like blown out immune systems, etc..
Along with shots, a worming program should also be established.
