An atheist is obviously spiritual, just as any other person, regardless of religion. That an atheist does not believe in the existence of God does not make him/her less godly. Spirituality is a function of the heart, while religion is just a belief system that intends to make someone more spiritual.
So the question is how spiritual does an atheist get? I agree with you entirely that a lot of atheists are very spiritual, even if they are the last to admit this. You find atheists on both sides of the scale just as you find religious persons.

Some are and some aren't. It depends on the individual as no two Atheists are exactly the same. In fact the only thing that all Atheists have in common is that none of them believes in any sort of deity or deities. Other then that Atheists can be like night and day from one another. Atheism doesn't uphold to any strict way of life. There's no doctrine or dogma of any kind.

I am an Atheist ,I believe in personalities, not mythical beings or spirits .

All the people like me believe in the here and now and the goodness of humanity and nature .

Sure. I know I am. Here's a definition of spiritual I liked so much I copied it from someone's answer.
"Spiritual is feeling a connection ... a oneness with all.
Usually those who consider themself spiritual will be seekers
continuously looking for answers to their questions .. being open to all. Feeling empathy and compassion to the earth and those on it as a reflection of themself".
I can go with that. And no mention of God anywhere.

Some of us are very spiritual in our views of the world. Science in one thing but a having an ethical code is all together different thing. Religions have a very backwards way at looking are societal behaviors.

YES. I don't know how others feel about it but my definition of 'spirituality' has nothing to do with believing in a deity. It can be it's own thing whether you have a deity or not.

Yes, it is possible.
Many people reject the idea of an angry jewish war god sitting on a throne demanding a blood sacrifice.
"God" can be considered "all that is".
I experience a sense of eternal being regardless of religious dogma. I might change forms, but part of me has always existed and always will.
"Reality" is more in your head than you know.

Define 'Atheist' Define 'Spritual'
I am a Christian but certainly do not believe in the sort of god that many atheists say they do not believe in!!
