Does anyone else ever feel this way. I'm a 30 year old mother to a 9 year old boy. And I think I'm a pretty good one, he's kind, smart, athletic and respectful. However sometimes I can't believe that I'm a mom, somebody's boss, a person of authority. Its the strangest feeling, like, "who do i think i am". Am i the only one who thinks like this? I'm sure I sound nuts, but i assure you, i'm not!

And no i didn't JUST realize this. LOL. Just every once it awhile it hits me, and I'm like....WOW, i'm somebody's Mom. I guess it's just because i always thought my mom was so wise and mature, and I think it's odd that somebody else feels that way about me.

And to those of u who think i'm not. U've just proved my point. I certainly don't feell like a 30 year old. But yes i am 30 and 30 year olds do use LOL, and LMAO, and LMFAO, and STFU and many other "young" terms. I don't feel any diff than i did at 18. Just now, I have a house and a nice car, and a child, and good credit and a 401k. I love it that young kids are answering questions on a parenting board!!! Love it even more that they don't think 30 year olds would use the words LOL. Newsflash for you, I work on a computer all day long, i communicate with my coworkers via IM all day long. Those abbreviations are used all day long, by people much older than me.

Bicksmom It hits us all and I think the younger you are when you have your kids the harder it hits. I turned 30 in Dec and my boys are 9 and 11, that day is when it hit me. But I look at the upside of thins and remember something VERY IMPORTANT. When I'm 40 I'll have 2 kids out of high school, and I'll be young enough(hopefully) to enjoy my grandchildren. The day you become a Mom your world changes and most of us forget to take time for ourselves, when we finally sit down for a minute, the whole where did the time go questions pop into our heads. It seems like you were just pregnant a few weeks ago, but in walks a 9 year old carrying a backpack and working on his fractions. You're not alone we all do it. Ask your Mom, Imaging what she thinks when she holds her grandchild. You're her baby and now your baby isn't a baby anymore.

Congrats! Its good to regonize all of your accomplishments many people dont take the time to think just how much they really accomplished.

It took you 9 years to figure this all out eh? Take some time to relax and think things over once in a while how could you just now realize all of this? Either way at least now you did better late then never.

I totally agree! What really hit things home for me is that my 10 year high school reunion is this year. They sent out request forms for what everyone has been up to the last ten years. I filled it out and then said to myself "Holy crap, when did I become an adult?!?"
