If you think about it, there have been billions of people who have died. Since most of them weren't exactly the right kind of Christian, almost every single one of them must be in hell, burning in eternal flame. You would think that If there were billions of atheists and Jews burning under my feet, I would sooner or later begin to smell it, right? Millions and billions of tons of charred flesh barbequing in the center of the earth would probably smell...delicious. What makes this even more absurd is that I don't believe what I just wrote. I just want to see who actually reads all the information provided here. I think most people just read the question in the title and give an impulsive and thoughtless answer. If you've read this far, prove it to me and answer with just the word "riboflavin." Technically you could say I'm trolling, but I prefer to think of it as an unscientific study. Consider me sort of a troll doing a poll; a trollster?

The "flesh" never chars, it just keeps burning.

Time is based on entropy or the way matter breaks down. In spirituality there is no breakdown of matter only a permanent or perpetual form of energy, like electrons permanently or perpetually revolving around the nucleus of an atom.

Since spirits do not break down there is no time frame in the spirit world. Eternity with no clock because it goes on forever.

Don't worry, you will most likely smell it soon enough, even if you don't believe it.

PS: Thanks Rusty.

I can not answer with simply "riboflavin" since your question is surely worthy of a more complex answer! If you were able to approach an active volcano, you would scent wafting from the depths of Hell the unmistakable aroma of all that smoldering flesh along with those of sulfur and brimstone; regrettably, you would also enhance the odds of your own premature arrival there by your endeavor to expose your olfactory nerves to the truth! Remember that it is quite some distance to the center of the Earth, presumably the locale of Hell, thus we are only able to garner a hint of the odoriferous horrors awaiting us there when a volcano erupts or some other gateway to Satan's realm opens briefly!!

Dear Riboflavin,

Only Mormons go to heaven, and hell is way more technologically advanced than we are here on the surface when it comes to toxic waste. They have the best air and sewerage filtration, and they have a hella cool recycling plant, so none of that has to ever leave their ecosystem. That's how they keep it so warm down there and never worry about rising fuel costs.

You are in flesh, and hell is a spiritual realm. So you cannot used your fleshy nose to smell what is happening in the spiritual world. You can only know what's going on there if you're there in spirit. I hope you don't go there because once there, there's no turning back.

We don't have flesh. We're disembodied spirits. The pain is psychological, not physical. My pain, is my conscience burning because I stole a candy bar from 7-11 when I was only 5.
