Bob Lee from Barrington, Illinois just started a cross-country bike ride to raise money and awareness for hospice charity, ALS, and cancer research. He calls them his "Three Reasons" and 100% of the donations to his ride are going to one of three charities: The National Hospice Foundation, The Les Turner ALS Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

Seems like a great cause to me if you're looking for a hospice-related charity to donate to.

Apparently it's taken him three years to plan this ride. He himself is a cancer survivor. I think he's 65 years old.

Bob is keeping a daily blog/travelogue on his ride. I've included links to his website and blog below, as well as some links to a couple other well-respected hospice charities.

There are, of course, lots of local hospice organizations as well that you might consider. It's your choice. I just thought the ride was a kind of cool thing.

Hope this helps!

Depending on what you'd like to donate, you should definitely check out The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).

Their website is www.nationalhospicefoundation.org

I know of a wonderful one called Nancy Hinds Hospice, in Fresno, CA. They administer care in privated homes, and also have a home for admission. They are 100% dedicated to helping people, regardless of ability to pay. I'm sure they have a web site. They provide wonderful, compassionate, care. Nancy Hinds runs the home, and herself is a committed and wonderful person.
