I have schizophrenia. I wanted to know if I can cure this disease by natural way because I don't want to be on medication.

The doctor didn't tell me I have schizophrenia but I know I do because I talk to my imaginary people a lot times of the day. I'm in my own dreamworld most of the time and I'm scared that One day what if people see me talking to myself.

Is there a natural cure, self-help I can do to cure my disease?

Books have been written about this, but I will suggest only three things 1) an aim in life 2) two things to do to help yourself

1) Aim to love and be loved. At times liking and being liked is good.

2) Talk to people every day. Keep connected with us other human beings. A side-effect of talking seems to be a humanising effect. I cannot overemphasise the importance of number 2 here.

3) Look after your physical self by exercise, sleep, and avoiding junk food.

I am sorry to tell you there is no cure as of yet for schizophrenia. My advice to you is get the help of a doctor. They will evaluate you and proceed from there if necessary. You may also be experiencing Bi Polar disorder. Both these diseases exibit some of the same delusional like effects and it takes an expert to diagnose which one is which. So that the doctors can best be able to help you in your time of uncertainty. Holistic medications can and do make things worse for someone afflicted with either of the two possible illnesses I have mentioned. (there could be others also)So please ask a doctor for their advice. There is nothing wrong in doing that at all. And it just may not be as bad or grim as you may think in the end. I did get help twelve years ago. I take my meds for Schizophrenia and learn all I can about it and how to live with it. I am very productive in life and things get better for me each day as I grow in mind and spirit to my continious betterment in life. Have a great day!

Dear Meema,

Self diagnosis is a dangerous thing. Schizophrenia is a condition encompassing a number of different disorders. Talking to your imaginary friends is not necessarily a psychosis. All children do it I think. Research the symptoms of schizophrenia by typing "scizophrenia"into Yahoo! search; a number of informative links will come up. Wikipedia is a good source.

As for a non-medication way of curing schizophrenia an older book by a psychiatrist that may help you mature is, "Mental Health through will training" by Abraham Low. It is still available from Amazon.com.

Good luck, good health, peace and love!

Sincerely,
Mad Mac

If it really is schizophrenia, there is no natural cure, unfortunately. I would find out for sure if that's what it is, and if so, medication will really help. If not, then maybe some counseling would do the trick.

I don't think that there is a natural cure but medication helps a lot. With the use of medication the symptoms will decrease and eventually your doctor might/will decrease your medication dosage and might stop it.But you have to remember that using illegal drugs only worsen the situation

The diagnosis isn't just talking to imaginary people.

There are degrees of psychotic symptoms and severity of symptoms. Get an evaluation done by an MD who specializes in this field before jumping to conclusions.
