Instead of exercising 20 minutes of aerobics, I did 40, and instead of 20 minutes on the bike, I rode it for 40 minutes, and ate less...so why didn't I lose anything?
If I did it was only like half a pound or something.

I did this for a week..

Your throwing your body into shock. It's saying oh crap, I'm not getting enough food energy to cover the energy being put out during exercise. You body is storing the energy incace this extra work load continues for a long period of time. Instead of eating less, your should eat more. Healthy foods that is, like vegetables and whole grains. Don't let yourself get hungry and drink lots of water. Than your body will burn body fat better and store less of it.

Half a pound is good. Be patient, more results will come. A week isn't that long for the body to change and adapt to your new routine. 4-6 weeks into it you'll see quite a difference.

You can also check your aerobic intensity. You want to work out at 65-85% of your maximum heart rate for the full 40 minutes (220 - your age x 65 to 85%). If you're working out longer, but lowering the intensity you won't see the results as quickly. Congrats, though, you're on the right path.

Sometimes when you workout you get hungrier. You really have to examine how much your eating. Try waiting until you are physiclly hungry to eat instead of eating at designated meal times. Then eat half of what you would normally eat and you'll find that it lasts you a while. Don't starve yourself, just wait for hunger and eat a small portion everytime you're hungry.

some weeks are like that. if you eat too little, you don't lose weight because your body goes into starvation mode and hangs on to every calorie it can. use these calculators to find out how many calories you should eat to lose weight.

ok first, its not healthy to double exercise and eat less, your body needs food and when you exercise you need more food to restore it. thats not healthy, try eating 3 meals a day and i mean 3 full meals a day and when you exercise, results dont happen within days, more like months. please, eat, its good for you, you only need exercise to lose fat but you need food.

You probably lost inches, When you excercise, you build muscle, and that weighs more than fat, it's the inches that count, not the weight particularly.
