Praise God, I commend your decision of salvation over hell. People who don't know God and who don't want to know him in the way we do call us Bible Thumpers, when people do this to me I say thank you. I will not stop sharing my faith and giving others a chance to know Jesus in that way. I am called to preach and have been in ministry for many years. If sharing ones faith makes us bible thumpers then so be it. It's not about judging but about caring enough to share God's love with a lost and dying world.

I am a Christian also, for 37 yrs. Many uses that term because we read the bible & we use Bible scriptures as an answer. Little do they know that Christians can also give a positive answer to a question without using the bible, Because God has not left us in darkness as not what to say.

Bible thumper (also Bible basher, or Bible Beater) is a derisive term used to describe Christian fundamentalists, or anyone perceived as aggressively pushing their religious beliefs upon those who do not share them. As an insult, its target domain is broad and can often extend to anyone engaged in a public show of religiosity, fundamentalist or not.
The term alludes to a preacher thumping his hand hard down on the lectern and the Bible on it to emphasize a point during a sermon.
Sid Meier used the term in his PC game "Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri" to refer to the religious fundamentalist faction, with remarks made by the other factions in the game along the lines of "they're too busy bible-thumping and it's cutting into their bible-reading" to suggest that they had lost sight of the bible's true teachings.
It is also the name of a Bible-study program for Palm OS which contains the full text of the King James Bible. This is a good, albeit possibly somewhat tongue in cheek, example of an insult being reclaimed as a positive description.

You think that you have the right to judge someone else according to your bible. You spout bible verses instead of using your brain. You deny evolution and believe in a young earth. All of those things are symptoms of an ignorant bible thumper.

You know one when you see one.
If every conversation and every answer ends up back at the
"god said it, I believe it, that settles it" point than youuuuuu
might be a bible thumper.

For me the term is never used lightly! I only say that about the folks I know, that always seem unapproachable, like you couldn't talk to them without a constant religious angle that makes you feel uneasy & judged!
I ⥠Jesus!

If you go around forcing your religious views on other people. People who either have different religious believes and are trying to change them, or who have told you they aren't interested but you don't stop. BT are out to save souls at all costs pretty much, they actually lose the true spirit and drive people away from God not to Him.
