I've had my belly button pierced for a while and I just wanted to know how often you should clean the ring to prevent infection.

It has completely healed and I've had it for about 8 months.

Hey there, I have had my belly piercing now for like 7years and you need to clean it at least once a month. But I clean mine every 2weeks with warm salt water and with savlon or dettol after I use the salt water as the salt water works as a purifier and the dettol is used as a sterilizer...Hope this helps you out...

Has it healed fully? Then just a shower will do it. If it hasn't quite healed yet, keep using Dial Antibacterial on it. Clean the crud off a couple times a day with peroxide. Try not to touch it otherwise and keep a waistband away from it so it doesn't get irritated.

every nite before bed clean the ring with alcohol, when the piercing is totally healed , just treat it like u would an ear piercing

When I Had Mine Done I Was Told Cotton Swab Nipple Spray And Diluted Hydrochloric Acid..
