Sooner or later science will fill in most of the gaps of knowledge and belief in gods will seem even more foolish than it does now. With each new discovery science makes, god gets smaller and smaller, until one day god is gonna go poof in the wind like a bad dog fart.

I hope so, I will bet the ranch any scientist can give you a better reason why we are here than some religous figure. What would a priest or someone like that tell you? Uhhh religion is the answer because some man just like us had a vision and wrote it in a book so now us assholes are going to believe it for centuries? Religion stemmed from the leaders of countries who figured if they could brainwash their citizens to believe in this "man in the sky" they would be civil and not kill, steal etc.

Science is not out to kill any myth - folk lore or legend. It is there just to get to the truth through rigorous experimentation, study, observation and analytics.

If the myth, legend or folk lore cannot stand it then it will fall. If it re-evaluates itself, as has many religions, in the light of evidence then it will survive to provide useful metaphors.

What you're talking about is deicide! But certainly - if not in the literal sense, then definately in the way we perceive God. I'm pretty sure God has already died countless times and been resurrected, in new-and-improved format!
