Is it really possible to train a cat to use a human toilet ( and flush)??

I trained 2 cats at the same time to do that. Started with a ''kitty whiz'' every week I made the hole bigger till I just took it out of the toilet. I would question if the kitty whiz is strong enough to hold a full grown cat, but it would be hard to train an adult anyway. It took maybe 3 weeks. Just to let you know I have heard of cats drowning this way though, nobody I knew just word of mouth. Check this out, then decide.

The one cat I had was diabetic and died when she was 2 and my other one moved in with 3 dogs, so I thought the toilet thing would be too stressful for him so I got a cat box. Not as bad as I thought cause I keep it reallllll clean. Good luck.

PS...did not teach them to flush.
PPS. sorry just thought, after kitty is trained you could always use a ''baby toilet seat'' on top of your seat to make the hole smaller. Instead of having a lid, I had 2 toilet seats, looked wierd but worked out good, especially if you have an extra bathroom mainly for kitty.

I have known several cats that were trained to use the toilet, but none of them are trained to flush afterward. I think that may be asking just a bit much of them.

Most definatly, I trained my 2 siamese to use the toilet.
Flush, no.. I didn't want them flushing and playing with the toilet, but I don' think it would be too hard to teach them to flush if you wanted to take the chance that they would flush all the time and make a game of it :)

Years ago we had a female Siamese cat who taught herself to use the toilet. We didn't have anything to do with it ... she just did it herself. However, she never flushed the toilet.

We did try to train two other cats to do the same thing, and they never did. I'm very interested in other peoples' responses to this question, and to see how they did it. I'm going to star your question.

YES.. it is possible (though I cant take credit for the training part.. she just started doing it on her own) I had a cat in Monterey named DC (stood for Damn Cat) that did that.. but on her own.. including the flush bit
