Do you guys ever read up on wars. Since the beginning, wars are fought for every reason anybody could dream up. and sometimes no reason. We fight wars cuz we can. The geo political stuff works just fine, but when the big dog eats others whine, but stand aside. Iraq is being fought for tangible gain, oil, and such, but also for the intangebles. Domination of a large territory in the middle of the Muslim world, and if they don't like it so much the better. Intimidation of many hostile regimes, look at what it's doing to Iran, this isn't 1982, they're looking at a very violent opponet in the US military. The Iranians lost a generation against the Iraqies, and we went through the Iraqies in days. We have turned Iraq into a bombing range, we blooded our troops, we trained with live fire, and if any insurgents care to stand and fight they will be annihilated. Regardless what the American press says about President Bush, nobody cares to have the USS Theodore Roosevelt show up with its battle group off their shoreline. The political ability to snipe at Bush is one thing, to hold off the US Navy is another. The US has always waited to get kicked, usually pretty hard before retaliation is endorced by the congress, and hell will surely follow. The North Vietnamese "won", because we got tired of killing them, already they had lost 3.5 to 4 million dead, and again half that many missing. Nixon bombed them until there were not two stones on top of each other, and they were defenseless. They never wanted to fight us anyway, but we needed to blood the boomers, we did at one time believed we would have to fight Warsaw Pact, thats 220 mechanized divisions. Vietnam was practice. Iraq is practice. Using 'kill boxes' does require practice, and combined arms technique is unforgiving if screwed up. The Romans blooded their male children at an early age, slice somebody in two at age 10. Rome held for 500 yrs. Nobody is perfect. But we can be very scary, and back these scum off of us. We might have bigger fish to fry, and the Jidhadist are jerked off by our off hand way of not caring what happens to Iraq, we just want to get as ready as possible to do the next job.

Well it could not be for anything else.
There was no imminent threat from Saddam Hussein and Iraq. The no fly zones kept them in check.
Inspectors were in the country and had sealed weapons that had been dismantled.
Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11
So it has to be for the oil and the money. It could not be for democracy because it cannot work in a society that has fought with each other since 632 A.D.

Wars are for gaining money and power. The condition of the Walter Reed Hospital shows you how much the government appreciates the veterans and soldiers. Need that money to go for other stupid things., yeah, I kn. Bush said it would be fixed but I'm not holding my breath.
