In 313, Constantine issued the Edict of Milan, legalizing Christian worship.

The canon is tricky. There were several, however, around the year 300, Eusebius recorded the New Testament canon as being what we know today.

No one knows exactly when the Catholic Bible was canonized. Various Protestant canons came later.

With regard to the answer above: Schneb isn't quite right. The year 300 was way too early for the New Testament. More like 800 or 900.
