I have a 10 year old female, Silver mix Egyptian Mau cat. She is beautiful, and I've always wanted to breed her with a similar cat. Though circumstances prevented me from finding her a breeder in the past, I wonder if its too late for her to have kittens now. She's in excellent health and acts like a one-year old cat. Does anyone know someone who has a male Egyptian Mau mix cat? Thanks :)

I would have a vet do examine her and also do bloodwork to make absolutely sure she has no hidden health problems. Most likely she is fine, but 10 isn't young for a cat and she could have a hidden problem that pregnancy may make much worse. If the vet deems her fit for reproduction she should do fine, however be aware that at her age it may take several heat cycles and breedings to get the pregnancy to "take", or possibly she may not be able to get pregnant at all.

Female cats are able to bear young as early as 7 months of age and is fertile until 7 to 9 years of age, so unfortunately, your cat may be a bit too old to breed but I guess there's no harm trying. Good luck!

I can't make any stud suggestions, but if your female is in good health breeding shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure to give her plenty of supplements when she has the kittens: Nursing little ones can take quite a lot of resources.

Good luck.

I think your cat may be too old to breed. Your cat may act young but it does not change the fact that her body parts are still 10 years old! Consult your vet and see what they suggest.
