This is ridiculous, two krauts who were smart enough to set up scam after scam are all of a sudden unable to be executed because they are "retarded". Fry these krauts.

Hey cora... whatever. So you think putting up the retard defense for two clowns who clearly aren't retarded is cool? What we need is more judges who have the guts to toss these nonsense appeals aside like the worthless paper they are written on.

These guys brutally murdered a young woman. I wish they would get executed by being dumped in a shark tank full of chum.

Well, people try to preserve their lives.

I think this case is more about anti-death penalty efforts than it is about these sociopathic criminals.

But for sure, common sense should prevail and these creeps are not retarded. Stupid, yes, but retarded, no.

I am not in favor of the death penalty - it is wrong to kill people, period. But I am not in favor of this kind of nonsensical legal wrangling at all.

This thing happened 18 years ago, and still no carrying out of a death sentence, only the appropriate imprisonment. And years and years of expensive legal hokum. So even what justification a death penalty might have - deterrence - is missing. The whole capital punishment system is a tortuous hassle, ineffective as punishment and deterrent. It would be better just to slam the prison door forever on capital offenders and be done with it. And mistakes can be corrected, which happens frequently. Then we wouldn't have this craziness such as we have here. Let people be satisfied that offenders like this live the rest of their lives in misery.

Ignoring your racial slurs....

Their lawyer is doing what his profession requires -- trying to save the life of his clients. And since the Supreme Court ruling that it is unconstitutional to kill the mentally retarded, this creates a potentially valid challenge to the death sentence.

You may not like the law when you don't like the defendants, but everyone changes their tune when it's their own neck at risk. Then, every possible legal loophole is fair game.
