Use a motion activated sprinkler in your yard. This one could get you wet too though.

Put herb rue, orange and lemon peels (cats dislike citrus smells), cayenne pepper, coffee grounds, used tea leaves, pipe tobacco, lavender oil, lemon grass oil, citronella oil, eucalyptus oil, or mustard oil around the doorways. You can also plant the herb rue. Some recommend that you peppermint oil, but catnip is a member of the mint family. Peppermint can encourage the cats.

They do sell replants, but I would use the natural ones because they are inexpensive and you probably already have them on hand. They also have sonic devices, but these can be extremely expensive.

One thing that you have to remember is that cats are unique animals. Something that might work on one but may not work on another. I have cats. The vet recommended spraying my plants with diluted hot sauce. This did not work on one of my cats; it only made her want to eat the plants more. This continued even when I made the mixture stronger. It kept the others at bay though. I ended up using coffee grounds. This worked out even better because it kept bugs away too.

DO NOT use mothballs. The cats and other animals may eat these and they will kill them.

Keep them out. And make sure the siding and underpinning on your home are up well so the cats can't hide there.
