I think a better question would be:

"How can we make the world a better place for autistics?"

It's not a good feeling knowing there are people out there that believe another group of people should be prevented from existing. It rings of old attitudes that existed in Germany in the early 20th century, and we all know where that led.

If one were to assume it is a genetic defect (which is likely correct), the answer would likely be gene therapy. Also note that "Autism" in lay terms is really Autism Spectrum Disorder and it is likely he combination of several disease processes.
