So many believe that the Bible to is a myth, that God does not exist, that Christ is not the son of God, or that he was tortured, crucified and resurrected on the third day. If this is not true then why were his followers - the disciples willing to DIE for Him and what he taught? I sure wouldn't die for something that I either had not witnessed or something I didn't believe in.
The Bible was written by atleast 40 different authors - how can it not be true? Why would people die a horrible death if this was not true?

I would like to add Christ is the only one where there is an account of him being resurrected. There is no account of any other human being that was crucified, resurrected or was claimed to be God's Son. The Bible has out lasted too many other books, Look at the world, read about the prophecies - This is real, this is not something someone made up - too many people, too many writers and evidence that's been found, should tell people something that this is true and a reason why the disciples died as they did.

There is a HUGE difference between martyrs willing to die for their religion, and the apostles of Christ dying for Christ.
Look, other martyrs die because they believe in their religion with all their heart. The Muslims who die for their religion would NOT do so if they believed their religion was a fairy tail.
But Christ's apostles were the ones who wrote that Christ rose from the dead and that they saw him do so with their own eyes. So that leaves only two possibilities. Either they really did see Christ alive from the dead, and so of course would be willing to suffer and die for him. OR they would know that the whole thing was a lie that they made up, and therefor would NOT be willingly giving up their lives for a lie.. Now
stop and think about that. No one would die for what they knew was a lie! So there is no comparison whatsoever between people who are willing to die for their religion, and the Apostles of Christ who knew beyond any shadow of doubt
whether they would have been dying for a lie that they made up.. were the whole thing not true.

No written statements by any one that was supposedly there has yet to be found, other than the accounts shown in the bible.
We have only the word of that book that the things that happened are true, thus we do not know how the disciples died or under what circumstance.
The Christian bible was not written at once, but over the space of many years and then was edited and reedited.
I'm still waiting for someone to show the Roman or Jewish records of the trial and execution. Also where are the records from the other countries? If the events of the Death of the man named Jesus were so Earth shattering why did they not get recorded else where?
Matt 45 27 From noon onward, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. ---- I think that would have been noticed --------
51
And behold, the veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked, rocks were split,
52
tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised.
53
And coming forth from their tombs after his resurrection, they entered the holy city and appeared to many. ----- I think that would have been noticed too ---------

The same reason Christians are being persecuted today. Because they believe in their heart Jesus raised from the dead, and have confessed Jesus Christ Lord.
Jesus is alive & well in Christians heart, through the Holy Spirit seal, spiritual birth.
great gazo?
Those people committed suicide because they rejected the cross & God turned them over to a deception because they refused the love of Gods Truth. The cross is foolishness to those who perish.
When people profess the cross & resurrection, others murder them because of their faith in Christ that they will not deny but preach to all who will hear.
black dragon,
There are roman records of Jesus dieing on the cross. And it is a known history fact that Christians were martyred for Christ by the Romans & other antichrist nations. They are still being persecuted or martyred today. Do a net search on old world history. Christian persecution has many times been covered up, to free the self righteous leaders to try to kill them off.

People do a lot of strange things for religion. There have been people who castrated themselves for both Christian and pagan gods.
The suicide bombers in the Middle East are certainly willing to give up their lives for their God - does that make them right, or validate their beliefs? How about the Nazis - they were willing to die for Nazism. Does that make Nazism right?
Being willing to die for something - people do that all the time. LIVING is the toughest thing.

As disciples of Christ we are all called to be crucified to Self (Satan) and rise in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. He is the ultimate example of self sacrificing love for God and all of Humanity.

The disciples saw Jesus risen from the dead for 40 days among 500 other people. They didn't just die for their "faith", they died for what they saw with their own eyes. To me, this is the most compelling evidence. I've never seen a non-believer confront it with anything other than a weak conspiracy theory.

I imagine that you read one of those crazy fictional stories of the Da Vinci Code. Look, God existed, even history proofs that Jesus existed. If Jesus did not volunteered to be sacrifice, than there wouldn't be any Christians. The Apostlles and all the true Christians love him, because of his mercy, love, and compassion. I Have seen the greatness of Jesus in my life. Therefore, my faith is strong because his with me and the rest of his people. He gives me strenght and courage to fight till the end. That's why I love him with all my heart and prefer to die than to live a life of evilness. I invite you to do the same. Give Jesus a chance to enter your heart. You won't regret it.

People are obviously willing to die for Islam too, does that mean its ultimate truth? Pretty much every other religion on earth has had its zealots willing to kill and its martyrs willing to die for their faith.
The only thing it proves is man's capacity to delude himself.
Sorry.

The disciples of Jim Jones also were willing to die for him, and they did die.
