Computers have revolutionized Law enforcement. They are used to keep track of fingerprints and photographs of criminals. They make it easier to get to emergency calls because the addresses are sent to a computer instead of over a radio. No more stopping to write down the address. In the past when a criminal left the county or state it was tough to get information to other places now its as easy as an Email.

Computers have made the job of law enforcement much easier. as well as other business and organizations within our country. Sometimes I think that the great advancements will one day be our downfall. One of the most difficult ideas to accept is 'man working with man'. Among departments and various department heads, there is often jealousy and envy and believe it or not - people don't always relay information 'across systems'. If not already, one of these days, there will be information that will be able to help every law official in every state - be it police, sheriff, air patrol, SWAT, whomever...... I think with the police shows that we see on television, we as "joe public" will be able to be more involved in helping to capture random criminals and especially sex offenders.
