... from captivity and slavery under the cruel hand of the Babylonians when he and his Persian armies conquered the Babylonian Empire. He allowed them to return to Judea and was proclaimed to be the Messiah by the grateful Hebrews. Maybe biblical prophesies regarding the coming of a savior/messiah were actually fulfilled hundreds of years BEFORE the birth of Jesus b y a Persian king! What do you think? If you disagree, please give some historical evidence to confirm your reasons.

The Hebrews did not believe that the Messiah was neccessarily a Jew. Nor did they believe he would be the son of God. Nor did they believe there could be only one Messiah.

A Messiah was a King who Liberated the Jews from bondage.

As such, they proclaimed the Persian Emperor a Messiah when he liberated them from the Neo-Babylonians.

During the time of the Roman Empire, the Jews of Judea waited for another Messiah to deliver them. None came.

I think your question hits upon one important reason why there has never been a radical conversion of Jews to Christianity. The messiah (or 'anointed' in Hebrew -- 'christ' in Greek) is always first and foremost a military leader. Jesus, of course, did not fit this bill. When the prophet Isaiah talks about the coming of a king who will deliver the people, it is not a spiritual deliverance -- rather it's a physical and military deliverance that will usher in an era of peace for the sons and daughters of Abraham. This, of course, didn't happen. Cyrus made possible the building of the Second Temple and the restoration of Jerusalem as the political and spiritual center for the Hebrew and ended their captivity in a foreign land with foreign gods. It is of no surprise to me that he was hailed as a messiah.

How do you dream up this junk? Cyrus wasn't born of a virgin in Bethlehem. Cyrus didn't open blind eyes. Read Chapter 45 of Isaiah and it tells you why God appointed Cyrus to conquer Babylon and free His people. Cyrus was only given the title of messiah because he freed the Jews from Babylonian bondage. God of Israel indeed is still in control of human events. God set an open door of conquest before Cyrus. God said Cyrus shall built my city and let go my captives. The Bible also tells you that God sent Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to conquer Jerusalem because God's people Israel were rebellious and stiff necked and stubborn and had turned to false gods and goddesses.

he did more actual prophecies than jesus, but since it did not work out totally, in the end he was rejected by jews, just like jesus... he did not have the spin doctors of Rome to make him into a new religion, or else you all may be worshiping him today, and paul's NT would either never have been written, or would be sitting next to dianetics in the section for silly religions..

Great Observation!

However many forget a very important fact:

Many jews think like Judas. Judas thought Christ would come to free the jews in the earthly sense, kill all the enemies and give them all the riches they could ever imagine. Christ did not come as a banker.

Christ came as a savior.

What they do not see is that Christ came to free us from ourselves. We were chained by sins and as our nature has it, it would have sent us to hell BUT because he came and died for our sins, we are FREE!

Free to choose to sin but when our state is realized through the Holy Spirit, grace abounds.
