My opinion is that the honeymoon is for you and your new spouse to spend some quality time with each other - I feel that a destination that requires a lot of sight-seeing outside the hotel room is counter-productive. We spent our honeymoon in a wonderful resort hotel in a town we didn't regret not getting to see much of.

Hard to answer without knowing your age, your budget, your interests, etc, but I'd have to choose Jamaica. I always have and always will see beaches, palm trees, soft sand, sun splashed days, moonlit nights, etc when I think of a romantic honeymoon. Add to this some wonderful food, the soft sounds of reggae, and the smiles of sweet Jamaican people, and you have a formula for a dream. Take lots of photos for memories to last a lifetime.

I don't know your budget! For me two replies here.
One Caneel bay on the Island of St. John. It's got beaches just for couples (and a few for family)
you are on a state park - untouched and the scenes are amazing. You can also hop on a Ferry and head to the BVI and over to St. Thomas -
The other is a Villa - either Jamaica or Mexico where you have your own pool. How amazing would that be.

I would personally choose Italy. I think it is one of the most romantic places in the world. Aruba and Hawaii are the "typical" honeymoon spots but to me Italy would be an adventure.

You and your wife have to decide that. If you do not go on a honeymoon right away you both can work and save the money up and go where ever you choose to than.

Be different! How cliche and typical is "Hawaii"??? My fiance and I are going on an Alaskan cruise. Everybody thinks you have to do tropical, but I think a honeymoon should be memorable and different...hence Alaska. But thats just me, I guess I really depends on your wife and what shes into...

St. Maarten. It was so gorgeous there. I'd love to go back, and we haven't had a honeymoon yet.
