Mayweather has beaten 10-12 past or present champions and his skill level is not anything you can argue against.
First of all, running is not the same as boxing. Floyd could stand a foot away from most boxers and they would never hit him. That's scary! And that is what he does, he hits you from so many angles and so fast half the time the other fighter doesnt even see it coming. As for De La Hoya whipping him or knocking him out, you're dreaming. Oscar is not a Mike Tyson type slugger, and he NEVER has been. He wore down Mayorga and Vargas who were defensively flawed to begin with. Look at what Oscar has done against guys who can box. Trinidad, Mosley, Whitaker, Hopkins, Sturm, Quartey, and Molina. He couldn't dominate or knock out any one of them. And Mayweather is faster and better than all of them. So honestly, what makes you DLH fans think Oscar can just overpower the most talented boxer in the game today who to top it all off, is in his prime? It just doesnt make sense other than the fact that you all are thinking with your hearts and not your head. Please people, don't bet a lot of money on DLH. Look at the tale of the tape and you'll realize there is not much difference and Floyd is stronger than most people think. Because of his speed they think he can't punch but he sure has more KOs than, say, a Pernell Whitaker had back in the day. 40-4-1 (17 KOs) vs. 37-0 (24 KOs). Floyd stops Oscar too in a VERY well paid sparring session after 7 rounds on May 5th. And even then, all the haters will say Oscar was past his prime so it doesnt matter LOL.

I always use to hate on Floyd cause his fights were boring. He'd talk about how he'd knock someone out and then hit the guy wit shots and no try and finish him. I am a boxing fan and i am an active boxer, though not pro. I actually wanted him to win the fight with De La Hoya, and i think the tatics he used against Oscar was what he needed to do. He was moving up to a weight class hes never fought at, 154lbs against a bigger opponent and did what was necessary to win that fight. I didn't think it was boring. His fight before with Baldamir was boring... Where Floyd won me was his last fight against Hatton. I thought the only way Ricky wins is by KO and i thought because of his punching power Floyd would run the whole fight.... In what was prolly the best Pretty Boy Floyd fight i have ever seen, Floyd got the knock out... Some of his fight are boring yes, but when he wants to fight, there is no one in the WORLD better.....

Objectively speaking, Floyd Mayweather is going to be very defensive, but not like a little girl. Anyone who questions Mayweather's defensive ability is a fool and should get their IQ checked for retardation.
Subjectively though, I want DLH to win. I don't very much like either of the fighters, but I just want to see Mayweather's defense cracked. If DLH wants to win though, he's gonna have to be a little rough. Mayweather relies on being comfortable and relaxed. If DLH can make him uncomfortable, he'll be able to expose Floyd's hidden flaws. Floyd does not hit exceptionally hard, and his durability has been untested (well of course, considering how little he's hit).
All things considered, Floyd will "run", Oscar will have to chase. Who's gonna win? I have odds on Mayweather. But anything happens in boxing.

This is a joke, Delahoya is soooo far from his prime it's not even funny, Floyds going to do just what you would expect, use his foot work and speed to take Delahoya to the late rounds where he will get koed. Remember Delayoa lost two of the last three fights he's been in. I'm not a Mayweather fan but your talking about an over the hill fighter vs the pound for pound champ. Mayweather by late round ko

You are boxing retarded. Its not called street fighting, its called boxing, and avoiding shots is a very important part of the game. I think you are an Oscar fan with a lot of fear of whats going to happen on may 5 and need some sort of outlet for your frustration. Not on their level? Without exception boxing writers put Mayweather on the level of Oscar and Mosley. So on may 5, get a bag of chips and a 6-pack and be schooled on what today's boxing is.

floyd will try to fight, until de la hoya lands one good shot and rocks mayweathers world. Then floyd will realize that DLH is too strong, so he will back of and start boxing, i wouldnt call it running like a girl, but more like a man cowering from another man

Hmm, no offense, but are you an..........Idiot?
You don't have to like Floyd's style of boxing, or his personality outside of the ring, but if you knew anything about boxing then you'd know that Floyd is a great masterful skilled boxer who can throw every punch in the book. He's not running he's boxing...It's all about "Hit and not get hit" for Floyd. I think you should try to learn and appreciate different styles of boxers. Aggressive boxerpunchers, Smart tricky defensive boxers, Slick counterpunchers...etc.
You obviously don't know anything about boxing and you make yourself sound like a fool with a post like that. LOL

get your head checked, no where does it say boxing means standing in going toe to toe, they call it the 'sweet science' and no where in science or even common sense does it say to take punishment where you dont have to, floyd is a boxer...pure and simple...he may deserve a good pasting for what he said to sugar ray, but oscar will not have a heavy bag with no boxing skills in front of him this time like mayorga was...and for the record, I am not a mayweather fan, just smarter than to hate on his abilities because I dont care for his agenda...he should handle oscar easy just like shane did in their two fights...oscar will retire after this fight...and by the way, didnt oscar lose all his big fights in the last 6 years? (and dont give me that vargas, mayorga crap...) *nice lob down there jez...

first of all, i think you take almost everything that floyd says literally...he says these things to build up all the drama and to hear himself talk, he probably doesn't mean it exactly like he says it, although he definitely thinks he's way better than he actually is
that said, i think he's going to beat de la hoya, oscar is getting up there in years and is not half as fast as mayweather

In order for Floyd to win the fight he better stick and run. If he goes toe to toe with De La Hoya he gets eaten up and spit out.
