Easter is mentioned in the scriptures. It is found in the Book of Acts.
Does it really matter if a Christian family wants to make a fun day for their children, by hiding color eggs throughout the house and lawn?
The meaning of Easter is different for the Pagans vs Christians.
What's the big deal about criticizing a holiday that brings joy to the hearts of little children?

Latino L~ No it is not all about a bunny. Its a day we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, first and foremost. After the celebration, the families gather and the children hunt for the eggs (some real eggs and some that have prizes in them like verses of the Bible for them to learn etc.) By celebrating it with both the true meaning of Easter and tossing in the fun for the children.. doesn't hurt ones heart that is truly following Christ.
When it does matter is when it becames a ritual and they ignore the reason we celebrate the resurrection of Christ.
To the one that says they are not true believers if they celebrate, you are so wrong... who died and made you God? You don't know the hearts of many.
I'm a Christian and I truly believe Jesus was born of a virgin, died on Calvary hill, was buried and rose again.

The non believers are afraid. They afraid of the truth, that JESUS CHRIST was RISEN from the death. They do not want to believe that there is ALMIGHTY GOD, that someday will JUDGE them.

Don't let it bother you. Look at it this way: if there are nonbelievers celebrating Christian holidays then somewhere along the line they will hear the Christian reason for the celebration. The more they hear it the more they wil be exposed to the truth. There is no telling how many people have converted just by repeatedly hearing the good news by accident. The next time you come in contact with a nonbeliever who is celebrating a Christian holiday say something like "Don't you just think it is so amazing that God and Jesus made this special day happen for us?" Put a positive spin on it. Have a good day and God Bless.

Doesn't bother me.
I enjoy seeing Christians celebrate pagan holidays.
I especially enjoy seeing Christians celebrate pagan holidays in pagan ways.
Keep symbolically partaking of the Spring Hare, and celebrating Eostre's fertility with the eggs.
It pleases the Gods, I'll bet.

Truthfully, the word easter being in the bible is a mistranslation of the word that means passover, and was properly translated as passover in every other reference in the new testament. Easter is not really a christian holiday, otherwise we wouldn't be celebrating with eggs and bunnies.

I am an atheist, and christians celebrating Easter or any other holiday does not bother me at all. Often, I am invited to parties as well.
I have nothing against food, drink, games, chocolate, etc.

It doesn't bother me any at all.
I just NEVER knew there was an Easter Bunny when I was a kid, since I was raised athiest so I kinda felt left out. So one day my mom bought me chocolates.
So technically, I suppose I celebrated Easter and I'm athiest. Its a nice little celebration of the coming of Spring.

Because some Christians take it to far
and ram and force
what they believe in on other people
Some Christians are so judgmental and hypocrites
telling everybody they meet that they are
going to hell you are going to hell
and they overlook their own sins
And they are nasty and mean as snakes and ram
their bible down somebody's throat
and is this really the will of God condemning and judging
other people

It doesn't bother me until all of the incessant christians start trying to get ME to buy into their phony beliefs. Just because you believe that the world was created by some cosmic magician & he sent his "son" down to die for everyon..... doesn't mean everyone else has to believe it.
You live in a country where you are free to follow whatever faith you choose, or you can choose not to follow any at all...... I am not bothered by what you choose to do. It's your life to live, not mine.... But what right do christians have to tell US how we're wrong for not believing that we should be celebrating the same thing??
Easter originates from pagan holidays...... christians took advantage of the popularity of these already established holidays & created their own based on their fictional novel written thousands of years ago. If you want to celebrate fantasy, that is your right....... but don't tell non-believers what they should or should not do.

Wait a minute, yes we Christians celebrate Easter.
but the "Easter Bunny" is Not what Easter is all about.
It makes kids forget about what Jesus did for us.
Same thing with Santa Claus in CHRISTmas.

I'm not a Christian. I am a Freethinker/Agnostic/Humanist. I personally don't care what you believe in or don't believe in as long as you or anybody else for that matter doesn't try to convince me or make me believe the same way. That's when we'll have a problem.

I have never heard of anybody being against Easter. I don't believe in God and I don't care. My family celebrates it.
