It's actually very easy to explain...depending on your particular stance on the issue.
Democrats say it because of Republicans.
Republicans say it's because of Democrats.
Independents side with scientists saying it's global warming because of the greenhouse effect caused by humans.
I think it's nothing more than a cyclic occurrence that will occur regardless of what we do. Since the beginning of time the Earth has undergone many changes, as we all know, without the presence of humans. The technology to measure these changes has only been around for a comparatively very short time. I also believe that would explain it on a solar level...unless there are political aliens on those other planets.

Astronomers have found some inconclusive evidence of global warming on Mars. Some ignorant people who know nothing about science have jumped to the conclusion that that means all planets are experiencing global warming--which is false.
They have then jumped to the conclusion that the factors operating on Mars--millions of miles away--are the same as on Earth--or that the sun is responsible, even though the solar radiation hasn't changed.
What these idiots don't understand is that the same phenomenon can have different causes. Their "arguement" amounts to claiming that because some forest fires are caused by lightening, no forest fires are casued by careless campers.
And these ignoramuses actually expect people to take their nonsense seriously! LOL.

In a word - seasons.
This is one of the more commonly cited arguments used to dispute global warming. The origins of this argument lie in a NASA report entitled ‘Mars is Melting’ http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2003/07aug_southpole.htm
The report states “The polar cap is receding because the springtime sun is shining on it” and goes on to explain how the seasons on Mars cause the polar ice caps to melt and reform an annual basis. Global warming isn’t mentioned anywhere in the article.
----------
As for sunspots - Sunspots occur in an 11 year cycle whereas global warming has been happening for 200 years or more. Sunspot activity does cool and warm the earth (and other planets) but by a very small amount. The difference between the minimum and maximum output of heat from the sun is just 0.07% http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunspot
----------
Regarding Iceland. It's never been green, you're confusing it with Greenland which the global warming sceptics tell us was so named because it was a lush green country. Here's the story about how Greenland got it's name
The Norwegian Eirik Raude, better known as 'Eric the Red' had been exiled from his native country because of his murderous ways, after taking up residence in Iceland he was again exiled for the same reasons. Setting sail in 982 he 'discovered' Greenland and after rounding the southern ice pack he landed and established a settlement. Three years later, when his period of exile had expired, he returned to Iceland in search of a population for his new settlement.
To entice people he told them of green lands and a warmer climate, he christened the new land Greenland because "people would be attracted to go there if it had a favourable name". The plan worked and Erik returned to Greenland with the intrepid emigrants.
Alas, they were to be disappointed, their new home failed to live up to Erik's promises and instead of a lush green land they found a barren wilderness of ice where crops could only be grown in two locations and at certain times of the year when the ice melted. They has become the victims of Viking propaganda. http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/17946 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_the_Red
---------------
As for the politicians, in a democratic country they're elected to serve the will of the majority and with 84% of Americans and 94% of non Americans beleiving in global warming then they're going with the majority. http://www.pollingreport.com/enviro.htm
---------------------
Switiching to nuclear would not eliminate 90% of CO2 emissions. The burning of fossil fuels accounts for 23% of CO2 emissions and to eliminate that 23% would mean nuclear powered cars and planes, replacing every gas appliance with electric (including water heating and central heating) etc.

Scientist know all about that, and consider it in their analyses.
The sun may be responsible for the other planets, but it's not the main cause of global warming on Earth.
Actual data shows it's not the suns radiation that's the major cause of global warming on Earth, it's us. Solar radiation is carefully measured.
The results are in the report below. Increased solar radiation is 0.12 watts per meter squared. Man's warming is 1.6 watts per meter squared, more than ten times as much.
http://www.ipcc.ch/SPM2feb07.pdf
What scientists think. Not from the "liberal" media.
""While evidence suggests fluctuations in solar activity can affect climate on Earth, and that it has done so in the past, the majority of climate scientists and astrophysicists agree that the sun is not to blame for the current and historically sudden uptick in global temperatures on Earth, which seems to be mostly a mess created by our own species."
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,258342,00.html
The IPCC report is the summary of a vast and verified scientific data base that does prove global warming is real and caused by us. Which is why:
"the question of global warming was settled years ago for all but a few holdouts in the scientific community"

how do you explain to the the thousands of people that are running from dust storms and the many who have died so far ,in floods as well as in dessert phenomina that they got nothing to worry about .that it is all a political scam
if forrest are being exchanged for ashalt, concrete and desserts ,because of excessive farming and population growth
what is gonna keep this planet habitable for us ????
Global warming is a very complex collection of many effects
this text is limited to effects of people in the country, industrial effects on the environment and the internal combustion engine as well as the over all contaminating effects of cities and the ozone part of global warming,is another story,
climate change is caused partly by desertification ,and most desertification is caused by man
the thinner ozone layer helps to speed this up.and this is caused mainly by air polution ,also as a result of mans actions
there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms
in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification and some have died as a result
in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert,
,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.
collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,
each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss
and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
and there are 70 million more peole every year that have to eat and drink and wash
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing
RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

And I would like to know, WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR INFORMATION?
The planets are NOT warming, LATEST satellite imagery shows MARS has NOT warmed!
Iceland was NOT green 1000 years ago, the Viking Chronicles named Iceland because it was a land of ICE!
