I find I drift towards a full 8 hours of sleep when left to my own devices. Modern living often forces me to make do with 7 or less, but I make up for that in the weekends with longer downtime. I rarely remember my dreams but I usually wake well-rested and fit.

You?

If I am very tired, I can can get 9 1/2 hrs of sleep on a weeknight. But normally it is about 8 1/2 - 7 1/2 hrs. On the weekend, I can get from 18 hrs a night if I am very tired to 4 hrs if I stay up late, and get up early. But I average 9 hrs on a weekend. They say that you can't actually make up sleep. If you body misses that rest, it just missed it. I am not sure that applies to me.

I have to sleep at least 8 hours a night or I won't be more than a zombie the rest of the day. When I do get less, I make it through work, then come home and nap for a few hours. I almost always remember my dreams, and usually wake well rested.

As I have gotten older I find it is more difficult to sleep. I am usually in bed at midnight and up at 4 or 5. On weekends I take some Tylenol PM and I can get in 7 hours or so. I no longer work full time so a nap is not out of the question.

I rarely remember my dreams too. It pisses me off!

The man in my life tells me I talk a lot in my sleep. I hope I don't talk TOO much.

Between 5 and 6 hours of sleep a night.
Been that way for as long as I can remember.
I know that all the sleep studies say otherwise, but I do well.
I have tried 7- 8 hours, and wake up sore, and feeling unrested. Maybe I should try training myself.
My dream recall varies... but I tend to not give them much consideration... it is after all just working out the kinks of my life subconsciously and if I allow that time of rest to do the necessary work, I am freed up to do other things.

6 hours after I go to sleep I'm up...except for nights following heavy drinking. The actual time I go to sleep varies. If I'm bored I'll fall asleep on the couch as early as 8p, other nights I stay out late. But the 6 hour rule generally holds true, even on weekends. Currently I'm most often asleep at 10 and up working by 4. This will change as soon as the semster ends though I think but I've always been an "early to bed early to rise" individual. And I almost always remember my dreams.

As people may have noticed, I am up late at night. :) I have no classes before 11:30 on any day of the week, and so generally head to bed around 2-3a and wake up around 9-10a.

I dream a lot, and vividly. I wish I had better recall, and I keep a notebook by my bed to write them down if they hit me as good tools for writing.

I struggle with waking up, no matter the amount of sleep, really badly. I am a super-deep sleeper, almost unconscious when I sleep, and to wake up is a struggle. I have three scattered alarms, and on important days (like exams), I have someone call me too. I wish I knew why I cannot wake up more easily, but it's always been that way and it's irrelevant of sleep amount.

I can rarely sleep for more than 2 hours max at a time. So I'm always going for naps. I only really get a solid sleep (about 5 hours) when I have to take pain-killers for one of my various complaints. 'Twas inconvenient, to say the least, when I worked, but at the moment I don't, and when I do go back it will only be part-time.

I also sleep much better during the day than at night. I think this is to do with the cycle my depression takes - much worse early mornings-afternoons, so if I can sleep through it YAY!

On work nights, I usually get by with 5 or 6 hours sleep, so I tend to go around chronically exhausted. I try to make up for it when I'm off- sometimes the kids will let me, and sometimes they won't. Once in a while- not too often- I just crash. I usually only remember my dreams if I was in the middle of one when the alarm went off.

I wake up at 6:30 or 7:00 regardless of what time I go to bed. Last night I went to bed at 12:30 and woke up at 6:30. I remember the high school days when I could sleep in until noon, but those days are long gone ... and honestly, who needs all that sleep?

At least 8 hours but rarely uninterrupted during a weekend, less during the weekday.
It's seasonal, as well. Spring and Autumn are tough because I can't get the temperature regulated right. It's not warm enough for air conditioning but can be too cold for the windows open.
