i have braces... the first time i had it, i went to the dentist and that day, he put the braces right away.. but no rubbers on metal yet.
he said that the need needed to be conditioned first before putting the rubbers... it's like a "practice" to u and ur teeth..telling me to go back after 2 weeks.
my friends who happen to have braces, too, had the same experience as mine. but i think, it's different there.. i don't know. i live in asia...
goodluck.. it might hurt a little for 1st 2 months, but after that, everything will be normal.. ^_^

I just got braces two days ago, it only took about an hour but it only took that long because my orthadontist was going from room to room seeing my sister who got braces at the same time, all up its takes half an hour to get them on.
Thats just in the chair not including the x-rays, moulds and photos.
I hope this helps.

If i can remember correctly it took mine 30 minute but it does really depends on the type of teeth you have. I had hard potrational teeth so it did not took mine long but When my mom was a kid it took hers 1 hour because she had negative teeths.

A couple of hours, for me they first take various x-rays of my jaw...very cool, and then proceed to clean and scour the teeth with a sour, corrosive substance. After all of the plaque and residue is removed, they glue the little metal posts to your teeth and insert wires and rubber bands. It's somewhat unpleasant, and lengthy.

If I remember correctly, than it should take about 2 or 3 hours. It's not too painful, but it's not fun either. Good luck!

It takes about 2 painless, but uncomfortable hours to have them put on.

about and 1 and a half hours all in all, they will do your molds then they will put your brackets on then they will do your rubber bands...then trust me on this...get something to drink on...it will make your gums relax and it will feel so much better.
