I just found an article from "Creation" magazine which spells out plainly that Darwin did NOT recant and embrace Christianity on his death-bed. It was written by one Russell M. Grigg, a Creationist Chemist (!) and Missionary, in 1995.
I know, outrageous! If anyone wants me I'll be recovering in the corner...

Sharon sweetheart, have you been paying attention? Whenever "evolution" is mentioned it is almost inevitable that someone will bring up Darwin's alleged recantation. (In fact I found that article because someone had brought up just this point in an answer a few questions back.) Seeing as Christians seem to find it difficult that atheists can survive without a messiah or a Bible, Darwin and "Origin of Species" are alleged to fulfil these roles.
So to me, finding an article in what I know to be a fairly "reputable" magazine - even if it is an online copy - written by an ostensibly upright proponent of Creation, marks a fairly large kick in the nuts for an "argument" which is often seen to refute evolution.
Did I use too many big words?

To me it IS a miracle. A religious publication that actually prints an article that denounces wild rumor and embellishment... not to mention that by doing so they weaken their own position. Was the editor on vacation that day??

Of course, whether or not Darwin recanted is up for debate. But I must say that it is quite amusing that people care so much about it except that they have an agenda. As a Christian it would be nice to think that he did recant but on the other hand I don't really care much, either.
Darwin's theories will be proven to be wrong either way. Many Christians and non-believers have said many things that have proved to be wrong. The whole debate about evolution and natural selection have spawned some of the most ridiculous arguments I have ever heard. And teaching a theory as a fact is probably one of the most idiotic notions that any school ever came up with.

Christians also love to point out Einstein had said "God doesn't play with dice" as proof the a man as smart at Einstein believed in god, when in fact he said (and elaborated on this further) that the statement was strictly a figurative one. They also like to have us believe we were founded by christians, but many of our nation's fore-fathers were generally disbelieving of the whole God thing. The nice thing about the Internet, is that it makes lies very easy to be researched and let the truth play itself out.

Why is this a problem for you? What does Darwin's belief or disbelief have to do with yours? My belief is based on my personal relationship with God. And I believe that story was planted by athiests anyway to discredit christians.
Oh, and as for the internet, don't forget that a lot of people believe a lot of lies because they read it on the internet.
