do they need no concrete proof to believe they are all destined for heaven.
why are there so many conflicting interpretations of the rules of the christian bible, with each believing their own is the only true one.
have they not been presented enough evidence to prove otherwise. or do they just refuse to question their faith.
is it non acceptance or fear of death.

for those of you who believe, do you have any other reasons, other than:
you know it in your heart.
god told you.
the bible told you.
just faith.

life is a precious thing, it's all we have.
i don't want to die and that be the end of it.
but i cannot believe in something that is only a false sense of security.
appreciate every day, and see things on their own merits.
nobody made a tree, it grew out of reaction to it's environment.
saying it is manufactured in some way by a supernatural force is a discredit.

Apparently you haven't experienced the love of God in your everyday life. I'm sorry.

Well I for one do not really on word of mouth, dude. I was in your shoes at one point in my life, not knowing anything beyond what I could see. Being afraid that if I walked too far I would fall of the edge. So I ventured into wiccan witchcraft and experienced the supernatural.
I don't just sit on my a$$ and wonder. I discovered for myself the existence of supernatural. Then I studied it and examined it and discovered that what the Bible states is True and accurate to the very last Word. And what I discovered even though I went through hell to obtain this information I will share with you for free.
There is only ONE God The Holy Trinity. All the power comes from Him. That includes all the power from various religions such as buddhist, witchcraft, and all the rest.So how does God's power get to these worthless religions? Simple, God gives each individual power and authority above all the power the enemy possesses. Because they have none, even satan has been stripped of power.
We,like Eve in the garden of Eden give these things the power to operate. But the true source of that power comes from God.When I was casting spells I noticed only those that had limited or no belief in God was affected by the spells,While it didn't even phase Christians in the slightest bit,Not even a smidgen.
But that led me to the conclusion there is definately a supernatural realm no matter how many people want to shut their eyes and pretend it doesn't exist and eternity is too long to be sitting in complete pain, agony, and torment and thinking..."Gee,maybe I was wrong." Take care and may God bless you,Spiritually.

Your question would take a lot of time to answer but I will ask you a few questions in return. Can you honestly believe that the earth just spontaneously combusted and created itself out of nothing? And so perfectly spaced from the sun, other planets and its moon that the tides and seasons and atmosphere and gravity provide the ideal and ONLY environment for human existence? Not to mention that humans as well as most animals are so inticately made that the very slightest difference in our DNA would mean the non-existence of life at all. Have you ever read about human DNA? Humans can not re-create or truly understand it, even unbelieving scientists agree.

This leads me to one last question. What are you really afraid of? Acknowledging that you are not in total control of your life and afterlife? You have free will given by God but what you do with that is your choice.

Personally, I do not fear death and live in peace. I value myself, the planet and all things in it. Unfortunately, many Christians get too caught up in legalism and laws instead of loving God and others first, just like the Jews during the time of Jesus' life and death.

The fact that people in general, not just Christians, are fence sitters in terms of their religious compliance has more to do with human nature than religious choice.

People are always willing to do the least they can while hoping for the greatest outcome.

Belief in something you cannot see requires a leap of faith. IT is the underlying principle in any religion that you have faith in what is proscribed by that tenet.

Primarily, the reason there are so many religions and so many interpretations of the Bible is that we are all different people and because some presentations of what the Bible says make people feel:

uncomfortable
confused
mad
angry
stupid

so other people have sought to explain the things the Bible contains in more simple terms and in popular language so that it's meaning is more accessible.

the interpretations of the Bible are based on the same things, if you want to feel like you are getting some message from the words it contains, you seek an interpretation that makes you feel better or more able to understand.

as for believing that theirs is the only true one...don't you believe YOUR church is true? That is not a statement of ego or arrogance, it is a statement of belief. I believe that my church is the only true church, but I strive diligently to NOT impose my belief on other people.

I can invite, encourage and explain, but I will not stoop to force because that is not how my Father in Heaven nor Jesus Christ have treated me. I am given agency to choose, so I try to respect free choice of others.

Religious practice has not ever promised safety of the body, but rather, safety of the soul.

I have questioned and prayed and studied to ensure that what I believe is a constant living presence in my daily life. If you do things blindly, you are not making choices, you are allowing choices to be made FOR you.

I accept death as part of the mortal journey, because I know that there is more to my experience than just being here.

In my life and within my family, I have seen and experienced first hand too many moments to ever even think of denying the existance and goodness of God. I have been blessed to have spiritual experiences that have reinforced and strengthened my faith and offered instruction that has shored up my knowledge.

while I understand that many people are willing to believe that we came from nothing and will go back to nothing, I cannot subscribe to that feeling.

There are too many testimonies of God in action in the universe and within a tiny seed to explain by mere happenstance.

Keep asking questions. Keep searching for the answers. They do exist.

Though you don't believe in Him, God believes in you.

Most people calling themselves 'christian' .......aren't!
They are as lost as anyone.
Their religious institutions have let them down.
None of that, however, speaks against the fact that the truth is out there.
If I may quote Jesus:
"Broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it." Matthew 7:13,14

Don't look at the big religions to offer anything.
They are going in the wrong direction.

If human beings are just another animal that came out of the natural occurance of things, why are we the only animal with the ability to reason, contemplate, or believe;
How did an accident of nature decide that we would even have the intelligence to question why we are here, where we came from, or where we are going? How is it that all the billions of other creatures out there and not one other of them have this ability?
Life is precious. Saying that life was a simple accident is the discredit.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do about things. It is sad when someone is so bound by their mind that they can not seek with their spirit. I know it is hard and yes, Christians do sometimes have doubts also because of all the infighting between denominations but all in all, our core beliefs are the same.

I can't prove God to you. You can only do that for yourself by allowing his spirit to enter your heart. That is the only proof that you can be sure of because then you will know the difference it makes.

It is so uncomfortable on a fence. I have studied, pondered, prayed, and hav obtained a witness of the truth. I have a testimony of the existence of God and his Son Jesus Christ. It is a testimony that I am willing to state to anyone of my beliefs. I even feel my belief is beyond a mere believe and tantamount to an unwavering knowledge.

Fence sitters are not more serious than fence makers. I suppose you know that there are a lot more sects in Christianity than any other religion.
This is why there are lots of fence sitters wondering which side is the right side.
