If it is a cultural problem, and the person with the veil is infringing upon another culture, then that person needs to adapt to the culture or go back to whatever place where the veil is accepted. Schools and institutions have guidelines for a reason, and someone from some foreign place has no business refusing to accept those guidelines and replacing them with their own ideas. If they do not like it, then they have to option of going back to wherever it was there were before.

I dislike them in school, but maybe not for the reason you may think.
You know how cruel young people can be. Anything that marks someone as substantially different can be an invitation to the worst kinds of behavior.
By wearing the Muslim veil, a girl is just asking to be ridiculed, excluded, and rejected, every single day of her school life.
You know the saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do"? To fit in, and enjoy a social life, it's better if the girl reserves the veil for religious circumstances, and does her hair as the other girls do.

I have to assume being that you did not specify, that you are referring to the veil worn by female Muslims. If that is the case, I would hope that it is only because seeing someone with their face covered is not a normal thing here in the US. It is not a practice here so people find it odd. There may be a few people who are actually offended by the fact that the person is of the Muslim faith.

The wearing of burquas in public should be banned, not only is it a sign of repression (women are forced to wear them by extremists or they'll be beaten) but it's intimidating. It's not even required by Islam, it's just traditional dress in Pakistan (like the turkish fez, just a hat)
How do you know it's a woman under it and not a terrorist?
A scarf around the head is acceptable for Muslim women, if they want to wear religious garb let them wear that.

In our society, we expect to see the others people face as we are talking.
So, people are scared, because it goes against their society.
Yet, we have to remember that we have the freedom of religion and the veil is a religious symbol.

If a christian has the right to wear a cross around their neck, why shouldn't a muslim wear a veil? However, I feel it is better to prohibit all religious garb in schools to avoid prejudice and promote equal opportunity for all students.
Schools should be egalitarian

Yes its pretty absurd and unbelievable but some people are intolerant and narrow minded and cant understand that everybody s believings and religions have to be respected .They should learn some empathy and think how would they feel if something they believe in was prohibited. Freedom of expression is one of the basic rights of human beings ...or should be.

Let them wear them. After all it is part of who they are. No one tells people they can't wear a cross necklace to school or a saint's medallion so why the veil?
