Al Gore is fighting for global warming but his mansion is wasting so much energy and produces so much pollution than any other person in the world.

First of all, what the right-wing creationists don't want you to know is that Al Gore has a carbon footprint of 0. That means that while he may consume more energy than the average household, the energy he is buying is green. It's renewable, and it doesn't contribute to global warming. Secondly, flying in jets actually helps the environment. If we did not use the efficiency of jets and jetliners, then we would be moving people around in cars, buses, and trains. All of which are far less energy efficient than planes. Al Gore drives a hybrid vehicle and flies commercially most of the time.

I understand the desire to trash the messenger, so as to distract us from the discussion, by labeling this dedicated environmentalist as a hypocrite (by the way, cigar smoke has nothing to do with greenhouse gases), but the facts of global warming will not change simply because you choose not to believe them. And while the drastic effects will not be felt by our generation, our children's children will look back and wonder what the hell we were thinking. And what will our answer be? We didn't like the guy who told us to do something? How dumb is that?

Tony, wake up and smell the burnt toast, Republicans represent the military industrial complex, not soverign american citizens, Democrats represent the layers of bureaucracies that serve the military industrial complex, not soverign american citizens, You sir are the hypocrite if now you have heard the truth and you do not act upon it. Your citizenship is a thing of the past if you continue to allow yourself and others to focus on obvious propaganda rather than honest community relations with other honest victims such as yourself.

Al Gore is certainly a hypocrite for personally consuming so much energy but the fact that he can be called a hypocrite only establishes the truth of the need of everyone to consume less.

Of course he is a hypocrite, but the liberals don't give a crap about that. the fact that he is AL GORE makes up for it. if he is preaching what they want him to then they are perfectly fin with complete hypocrisy. People are blinded by the "inconvenient truth" and follow him like the little sheep that they are. but they just ignore the fact that he lives in a way that completely contradicts how he tells everyone else to.

This question is quite one-sided. First, the question assumes that the heating and cooling of 4 houses is done with fossil and nuclear fuel fed generators and the use of environmentally dangerous products - inefficient, ineffective, wasteful. Who has done real research to determine exactly how Al Gore heats and cools his houses? Before we are so quick to respond to a loaded question such as this one on "waste", we need to do real investigating and research. Don't you think? Al Gore claims that he uses "environmentally safe" methods to heat and cool his houses and mansions. The "media" and the "anti-Gore" groups claim Al Gore is a hypocrite and wastes the same "environmentally dangerous" fuels and products to heat and cool his houses as do most Americans. Who is right? I say that, in the "war of words", we American citizens have no clue as to what is really true in this situation. We are merely accessing the "pablum" that the opposing sides choose to "feed" us. Let's look instead to how we can be better informed citizens - and not just depend on CNN, Fox News, NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, et cetera for their "slant" on what is newsworthy and worthy of reporting. If we can start with this question:

"Is Al Gore "wasting" precious and environmentally dangerous resources for the comfort of his homes, as well as for his personal comfort while eating and jetting around the country and around the world?"

perhaps we can learn to become "informed" citizens. Then, perhaps we will begin to learn to ask questions that really allow us, as individuals and as Citizens, to better function and "survive" in our national and global environment.

Is this person in 4th grade? What a stupid question. Is Al Gore not entitled to own houses? When did he tell us to abandon cars? Why is there a problem with him going to restaurants?

Is this person pro-pollution? Can we say idiot?

Up until a few months ago I used to recycle and be a concerned citizen of Earth, but I'm just sick of these high profile greenies touting BS science from town to town while flying in luxury jets and living as lavishly and obtrusively as royalty.

I quit recycling. It's all just garbage now. Sometimes I go drive my SUV around just to waste gas.

I'm done conserving until these nutjobs get a dose of reality and sell conservation on the merits of conservation, not gloom and doom psudo-science with Mann's 'secret data'.

Do as I say, not as I do. As with most Socialists, he believes he knows what is best for the rest of us. However he is above that sort of thing. Remember his Daddy was a Senator, and he or his family has been around a real job for 2 generations.
Can you say, Kennedy, Hilary and the rest.....
