1st employer for whom I worked for 1 month did not give W2. I have 2nd Employer's W2 for the rest of the Year 2006. Do I have to submit form 4852 for the 1st Employer? Do I have to wait till 15th April for filing my return? I have record of efforts I made to get the W2 from 1st Employer.

If you have recorded your efforts and can reasonably calculate your income and withholdings (hopefully you have a final paystub) then go ahead and file now. You do not have to wait any longer.

You should contact the IRS first and file a missing W-2 complaint. If you go with the Form 4852 the IRS recommends that you wait until April 15th to file. There will be a delay in processing your return while the IRS attempts to verify the information on the 4852. If you receive the W-2 after filing you'll need to file an amended return on Form 1040X and attach the W-2.

You need to complete and submit the form 4852 that is the substitute for your missing W2. Send that with your return if you are mailing your return or keep it with your records if you are E Filing,
You do not have to wait til the 17th you can file now. If and when you get the W2 from your employer compare the figures with your 4852 to make sure the numbers match, if not you might have to file an amended return
