First do run tags. Run to the free throw line, touch the line, run back to the line underneath the basket. Now run to half-court, touch the line and run back underneath the basketball. Run to the opposite free throw line. Do this several times, plus a few more times each day. For basketball you need to be in shape. Unlike baseball and football, you are always running up and down the court. It's going to take at least one month if not more before you are strong enough to play a full game.

You could also something called "Hyper Intensity Interval Training". Dont worry, it's much simpler than it sounds. It's a form of walking, jogging, and sprinting mixed into one cardio activity. This is how it is set up:

10 minutes-Stretching, walking (warm up)
1 minute- Jog
30 seconds- Sprint
30 seconds- Walk

(Repeat jog, sprint, walk in that order)

Then finish with

10 minutes of walking, cool down.

This will help you endurance and explosiveness. It'll definitely get into to shape. Dont be surprised if you cant sprint much at first, but I am positive that if you stick with it, you will succeed. Good luck.
