when we were young we dated for three years and were in love. we broke up over a small immature (we both agree on this) incident. we have remained in contact with each other over the years-keeping each other up to date on the others life happenings. we've both married and divorced and had children with our spouses. this friendship has lasted for 25 years this way. he's now dating someone of five months and i've been seeing someone casually for three months. i'm certain my current relationship is going no where, but don't know about his. i would love to get to know him again intimately. help!

You cannot make someone like you. He knows you as you said and it appears you are both mature adults and if you are both in a relationship, no matter if it seems to be going nowhere, you should not be asking this question if your intent is to try to get him out of his current interest.
Both need to be out of relationships to have your heads clear as to what you both want. If both of you are out of relationships, and want to start to develop more than the just friendship basis, you have to discuss it as adults and go from there. If you feel you want more than friendship, you need to tell him, when he is not in a relationship. If it was meant to be, it would have happened. Everything happens for a reason. If his relationship ends and you are not dating anyone, then have a heart to heart. Best wishes to you.

show him u still luv em by callin em up, n talkin very independantly. try 2 meet him n erson more, that way he thinks bout u. just b very free wit em. talk bout stuff that u know he is interested in
