What if one day, you realise you're about to die. You review the evidence and what's in your heart.

A seed of doubt comes into your mind that explodes into a realisation that there is no God.

Would you consider your life wasted?

Or would you be content with having lived your life to the best of your abilities knowing that you always followed what you believed to be right?

There is no doubt on our belief of God. We have faith in God and we have always doubted your belief to have no God.We are contented of what we are in believing God as our creator and we are his creatures. Its you who come to repent at the end of the world.

I guess that depends on how much I felt like I sacrificed just because I was a Christian. I never regret the good things I've done, but I always regret the bad things I've done, so I don't think I'd feel like my life had been a total waste. Being a Christian has motivated me to be a better person than I might be if I weren't a Christian. Of course I can't say to what degree that is true, but I'm sure it's true to SOME degree.

It could happen. We, who have chosen to be men of God, are under attack by the world and of course that old enemy the devil. Jesus said "I will never leave you or forsake you, I am with you always. I believe that statement from personal experience. So the hypothetical scenario is very very doubtful. But to answer your question. Personally I would not in any way shape or form regret having lived a life of joy, goodness, morality and wisdom. If we do not follow what we believe to be true, what purpose would there have been to life and existence? "To thine own self be true". With or without the existence of a God is there a better philosophy than "love one another"?.

I often ask ...
"WHAT IS THE WORSE THING THAT COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN?"
It helps me put problems in perspective to get the best answer. (that goes for: [i] speeding vs being 10 mins late for work; [ii] try a new restaurant vs a popular take away; [iii] stay faithful to marriage vows vs not)

I have looked for proof beyond the Bible ... including personal experiences in prayer and service. So God is more than blind faith to me.

If ...
"one day, you realise you're about to die. You review the evidence and what's in your heart.
A seed of doubt comes into your mind that explodes into a realisation that there is no God.
Would you consider your life wasted?"

... then I would still have friends and family at my funeral saying I enriched their lives.
Not just because I only got one speeding ticket in the last 12 years
Not just because I walk past McD's to try a Korean meal
Maybe because my family basically friendly and helpful (even though we are habitually late ... LOL)
****************************************
I'm not sure what you mean by "Christians" though.
If you mean close minded, hell threatening, "My church will be the only one's saved" ... then I do not fit in that category of "Christian" ... maybe I am answering a question meant for someone else.

I do not have nor use fear for a reason to believe in God.
I do not see Him as a Lord, and I His servant.

I see that God is a God of love, no strings attached.
He loves us as the most ideal parent could love His child - even when we have been distant from Him for eons, His Parental heart is still yearning for us to turn and run to Him.

The unprecedented example that Jesus gave of such a love, was when (at the first Easter) he looked at his torturers and murderers around his cross and prayed, "Forgive them Father, For they don't know what they are doing."
That kind of love for his fellow man was never shown before and seldom since.
God was the source of Jesus' love, so He must have even greater levels of love than we can imagine

I like how birdsflies says 'I know you atheists are most miserable in this life'. You know nothing about atheists. There are many such as myself who love life to the fullest and love with every fiber of our being. Shame on you for saying such a hateful statement. I appreciate those who are religious for truly answering this question without saying 'that's not possible' or 'that'll never happen'. The key was to actually think about the question and answer it without blocking the thought out of your mind. It wasn't meant to change your faith.

I know how I used to be before I was a Christian. I know how I am now. I wouldn't trade one second of my walk with Jesus for anything. I could be told I have 2 seconds to live and be content with my life.

*Devil's advocate talking

What if you woke up and realized the opposite of your question?

*Me talking

"Christians" is a VERY large number of people and each individual has his/her own beliefs (very few people have exactly the same beliefs and morals). Personally, I would still be content because I led/lead a good life. Note that even the most sinister criminals and hateful minds are still repentant upon their deathbed, so I think that even the most average Christian would still die happy, even if they were a little disappointed.

if i'm wrong, no harm no foul. then i will die and there will be nothing, or i'll be reincarnated or something. but if i'm right and atheists are wrong (or any other religion) then i'll be sitting at the feet of my Lord GOD and the others will not.

i could not possibly feel that living a life of serving GOD and His will was wasted.

I know you atheists are most misable in this life, But I have a promise of another life after this one, & this promised has lasted me for 37 yrs. & why should I doubt God at the last minute, That will be the best time to know him. I am content with this life & will be content with the one that awaits me at death. What will you do when you come down to dying & realize there is a God, You know I had one atheist I use to work with & did not believe in God, About one week before he died, who did he call for, You are correct, He called me on the phone, He realized there was a God. I did not ask him to call me.

Or what if they die and then discover that everyone EXCEPT for Christians goes to heaven, while the Christians burn for all of eternity in a lake of fire?

It sounds ridiculous, of course, but it's _exactly_ as likely as their version. So Mr. G, Gina, Papa, Lady, Phantom, the question is...will you enjoy Hell? Are you prepared to find out that the Christians are wrong?? Are you really willing to take that risk?

Think about it.
