Sacred comes from a feeling of reaching a godly state, and as such, sex when done with the right person, at the right moment, and with all of you 100% in the moment (like a meditation), can provide us with a glimpse of eternity.
Now that glimpse can be extended with techniques such as Tantra or Sexual Taoism.
peace!

Earliest humans have always been intrigued, understandably, with birth and death and they've long known where babies come from. Some have wrongly thought of the womb as they do soil (unaware of the ova, being too small for the naked eye) and semen as they do seed, but never the less they have considered the process amazing and the ability to bring forth life to be divine. Many cultures have woshipped the feminine more than the masculine because the female brings forth life. The primary exception to this has been in nomadic herding cultures whose practice of animal husbandry has led them to see the male (the bull) as essential among a herd of dozens of cattle (because one male can impregnate dozens of females). Herding culture is where patriarchal monotheism originates.

Being able to create life carries great responsibilities--you must culture the life of that creature.
Free sexism has not given the world the happiness the media presents, and as such, God will bring judgments upon fornicators--"the immoral shall not inherit the Kingdom of God."

Sex is how we participate in creation. It offers us the chance to cooperate in the creation of a person. That makes it sacred because all life is sacred.
