Fear of talking on the phone is very common with stutterers. My uncle found that the brochure put out by The Stuttering Foundation helped him. You can download it or read it online at www.stutteringhelp.org. Click on "Brochures for all ages" and look for the brochure about talking on the phone. You might find some others that are helpful while you are there.

is utilising the telephone relatively significant to you? if no longer than as quickly as you agree for that the terror might develop into much less? did you pay attention some undesirable information over the 'telephone? that should instill concern from a youthful age. you need to attempt having a 'telephone around the situation and keeping it a splash each and daily. small and sluggish must be the main or attempt going to the g.p. or therapists.. large ring tones that make you snicker could be a exciting thank you to provide up them being so frightful. stable success.

I have the same fear sometimes, and it does get in the way a lot, but I force myself to do it, because you can't hide from it forever! And realize there is a lot of people like us who don't say it, but they know who they are. It's perfectly fine for you to react like this, too, just have someone else do it for you! Haha, I'm just kidding about the last part.

What's so frightening about it?

Just remember that you are the customer: they're going to want you to get what you want. If you phone up it's very unlikely that they are going to be rude and obnoxious to you because at the end of the day they want to get paid, and you want to get whatever you're calling for (pizza, cab, etc.). You both have the same goal - so there's nothing to fear. :)

You probably have an issue with public speaking. I would take a class. I used to have the same issue. I overcame it by practicing talking to people.

try writing down what you need to say and then read it instead of saying it.
