Here some extra info about eggs:
Eggs should be stored in the refrigerator in the carton they were packed in.
Eggs keep best when they are stored at temperatures of no higher than 40°F.
Eggs should be stored with the rounded end pointed up in order to keep the air cell on top and to help keep the yolk centered in the egg.

Yes, eggs go bad. Store bought ones do not last more than 3 weeks, fresh farm eggs will last much longer. Here's a little test. Take a deep bowl of water, place an egg in the water....a good egg with sink, a bad egg will float!

yes, there should be a expiration date on the box
crack a egg-if the yellow (yok) is high very fresh
very low yok getting old
I don't keep them longer than 30 days under refrigeration

Yes, everything goes bad eventually, but eggs can be used (although they don't hold their shape as well or taste as fresh) for a long time.
