What is a successful life.
I often use this example in class on creativity. We first list all the things we need for a successful life. Then list all the things that make a life successful.
For me I measure my life in how positive a contribution I make to the world around me, my personal happiness and whether I am always becoming better.
So my advice is do the same. Make a list of all the things that make life successful, then choose 3 things that you think are a measure of success.
Then match them to the things you have to do make them a reality for your life.

Successful people are focused, driven, and don't give up.
The true giants of the world that made the most important contributions to humanity, were almost never recognized in their own time. So good work has to be its own reward.
The biggest risk of all, is never taking a risk in life. A lot of what we call successful people today were considered screw-ups by everyone around them at the time.
And finally, Que sara sara ... whatever will be, will be.
Just by being here, you are successful.

When you look in a cemetery, very few headstones talk of their business, academic or sporting achievements.
Family stands out as the number one thing.
Politicians, celebrities, and tycoons make headlines if they get or un-get married. So even bubble-gum magazines see that "family" is important.
