yep, the two single largest individual donors are both atheists:
Bill Gates and Warren Buffet
and somewhere fairly near the top is Richard Branson, another atheist.
Imagine that?!

Good for them. I don't have anything against Atheists and I respect them for having the guts to state their views on whether they believe or not. I think those televangelists are the biggest stain on Christianity, most of them are just hypocrites looking for some easy cash. I'm a Christian and I detest people who use Jesus's name in order to gain a profit.

assisting others is relatively a noble pursuit, yet doing it via fact of one's self perceived obstacles won't be the right motivation. it may in spite of each little thing be unlucky to commit your self to a selfless existence basically to omit out on each and all of the opportunities in simple terms a splash of selfishness can carry. Why no longer plan a existence dedicated to others and a existence with friends and demanding others as properly, even maybe toddlers interior the destiny. in spite of the character of the themes you think of you have there is help in case you seek for it.

I do believe that we as Christians ought to be vitally different than any one else. I think our impact on the world is ideally that this earth and it's inhabitants are in a better world because we are working our butts off to do God's will and overcome the evils of this world with His good.
(The evils of the world, are death, pestilence, poverty, sickness, disease, abuse, drugs, pollution, and so on.)
Do I think that as Christians there is a prohibition on an ostentatious lifestyle? I think it has its' problems. Still I think a person could be very wealthy as God has blessed them to be a blessing.
Who is to say that Benny Hinn (I'm not fond of him and am shuddering to think I am offering any defense), isn't donating hundreds of thousands of causes?
I know that Joyce Meyer who has a huge ministry sold a lot of her property and redistributed the wealth to others when it was pointed out to her that some of what she had stockpiled was questionable.
Becoming Christian isn't equivalent to taking a vow of poverty, it is equivalent to saying everything God gives me is given to do His work.

A couple weeks ago I made meals for the homeless. Yes, atheists do a lot of charity. We just don't slap our religious beliefs on the building when doing so.

It is far easier for a wealthy man to hide behind the excuse of being 'forgiven' than it is for a camel to thread a needle.
Or, simply put, every other answer runs a high statistical probability of being twaddle, just like mine.
Good question, though. Thanks.

The statement you've made sums up the history of Christianity. IT is the measure of selfishness in a religion that preaches selfishless-ness. People believe in God so God can help them. I am an Atheist (I'm not agnostic... I AM against the "theory" of God). I've never used drugs. I've been in long (i mean ******* looooong) strait monogamous relationship. I work. I pay taxes. I volunteer. I am more Christian than 99 percent of Christians. My girlfriend (who is Christian) sister is the opposite yet she judges people and condemns people (in her feeble mind) for "sins". Christianity is a religion of blame and selfish self serving empathy. Hypocrites=Christians.. plain and simple.
Read below what Jesus Freak wrote. He is proof that Christianity exists to persecute people. He believes he is "righteous". Hell he even toots his own horn. The guy is like millions of Christians, they love themselves so much they have a "personal Jesus". Give me a break. You are why millions have been killed in the name of the Lord.

I don't think I've ever met an atheist who didn't dedicate his or her life to helping people. It goes with the territory.
Of course religious belief motivates many many people to do the same.

Is helping helpless people not right to do as human being?Maybe it is not right for the Satan but it is right to the righteous man.
The caliber of a certain person is not only determined through his religious denomination but determined on his ability and desire to help a helpless man, to help the poor and to help the needy.
