70 % of the U.S and all of the world no longer support this corrupt and criminal man. .

Edit: I don't suport this plan either, it will never be solved militarily, it must be solved from within, the Iraqi people will have to step up and decide when to end the violence.

i find it amazing to look at answers to questions like this. makes me wonder how many of them have been there or know people who have been there.

bush's actual plan? well, that's hard. i don't really support anyone's plan, but then it's a very difficult situation to deal with. if we were to pull out now insurgents would overrun the country and destroy the small freedom the iraqis have seen. staying in means more military getting injured and killed. but in the grand scheme of wars, this actually hasn't had a very high death rate nor has it been going on for a long time. if people were to be more supportive of the military themselves instead of relying on information from biased sources (i actually listen to quite a few different newscasts with as open a mind as i can muster) and essentially crapping on the military as a result, maybe someone would be able to come up with a better plan.

no bush just wants to stay the course, its all about ego for him now. i'm not saying that we should just pull out completely, but we cannot bring democracy to the iraqis, they must take the lead.
just as we fought for independence from britain, we got help from france, but france did not fight the war for us, we had to take the lead and show that we were willing to pay the price for independence. democracy cannot be instilled in a culture it must be supported and fought for by the culture not an outsider.
any reduction in violence is more a measure of the militants laying low than anything that we are doing. sure a lot of police and soldiers will slow down the violence, but that is not a long term solution and as soon as we stand down those factions will rise again and bring violence unless there is a will from the iraqi people to not condone the violence.
