If our lives on Earth are to be cherished, then why doesn't god visit ever generation? A perfect being acting imperfectly is not very god-like.

Joel Osteen said on his show that God opened a screened door for a woman carrying in groceries for her kids. And the crowd actually clapped? Is this the proof that christians use that god is not idle? OMG!!!

Same as a lazy politician -- idleness limits the harm that a god can do.
However, that doesn't limit the harm that its followers can do.

I have received Jesus in my heart by saying Jesus forgive my sins I am a sinner come into my heart in desperation on the night of my moms funeral.I received peace and love and Jesus showed me I was going to live forever with Him when I die instead of going to hell and being tortured by satan until i would be burned up.I pray to Jesus and He helps me because we are together now not against Jesus.I had a real experience.What do I have to gain from telling you this I am not passing the collection plate i don't want you to join any church think about it.Jesus is real.and He lives in peoples hearts that are willing to let Him in,

Ah yes, Deus otiosus. He has moved on to what, better things? So what good is he to us? And are believer's prayers even listened to? Was earth a "hobbie" of which he became bored? Are humans heads so far up their butts that they are delusioned with such self importance that they really believe our lives even matter to the rest of the universe or he who controls it, assuming there is a god?

Some folks expect God will answer prayers and let Himself be known through a big act of light and thunder shows...sure God can, has and will use that method ...but when one tunes himself with God ....your eyes are open to the subtle ways He works ...which to me is marvelous ! ....God Bless !

Free will and self awareness,is what makes us human, and they allow us to make the choice to have faith or not. What would free will and self awareness be if God was standing over our shoulders all the time telling us "you better act right...I'm right here"!

For now, he is waiting on us.
He is waiting for us to realize that we cannot rule ourselves and need to give over all power to him.
