Hi,

I'm a 'foreigner' and I live now in Spain, though I am English.

However that doesn't mean I can afford to travel the world without earning my money.

You, too, are a foreigner (at least once you travel to another country you will be!) so not EVERY foreigner can afford to travel as you suugest.

Remember, too, that for every person who travels there are thousands who stay at home in their own country, where they remain as 'non-foreigners'.

Just a matter of attitude, I think, there are many people who can afford to travel and many more who cannot. The origin and country of birth has little to do with it.

If you work and save some of your earnings each month you, too, would be able to become a 'rich 'foreign' traveller'.

Good luck

Well, could be a lot of reasons:

1. Rich family, rich parents, leecher :)
2. Earn a lot, seasonal job(?)
3. Maintains e-business? (That's what I do, good money, little upkeep time needed)
4. dont have a house / car / etc. to pay for
5. and someone already said, but some people just travel and get a job wherever they are and just work it off while touring the city (seems pretty cool)

doesn't have to be a "foreigner" :-P

It could be their savings, inheritance or winning the lottery etc. Certain countries have arrangements that allow people between 18-30 years old to travel and work at the same time. It's called "Working Holiday" You just have to check with your government if your country has an arrangement with any of your travel destinations and if you're between the age mentioned above then you might be entitled to travel and work to supplement your travel funds. It will also tell you what kind of work you would be allowed to do in each country and the length of time.

Might be lots of reasons. Good pay. They don't have to keep up a house and a car and can afford the plane tickets. Rich parents. Rich employers.

(-: I wish I could travel the world. But I'd have to give all my books away, because I sure as heck couldn't afford to put them in storage. Maybe if I had a rich employer. . . .

I had a friend who used to do this all the time every year - she used to work for six months, then go travelling for six months - she wad dedicated to it. Fact was, she used to live like a church mouse back in England to save enough to travel - a lot of countries are basically cheaper that the UK - especially when you get out of mainland Europe (Africa, Middle East & Asia), so the money goes further - her job didn't pay that much, but her lifestyle revolved around doing this kind of thing.

They don't spent the money on houses or cars, and they have money because their family is rich.
