Why the Israelis military are not supporting the U.S. War on Iraq & Afganistan?

Since Israel is strong allied with U.S..The British are supporting us but not the Israel. Why not? We could use there help since they have a powerful military that we can use support.

It isnt that Israel doesnt support us. They do.

They just cant and shouldnt do it with their military forces.

The Israeli military may be powerful but it is very very small. they are all needed just to protect their own country. Except for maybe some air strike by their planes. there is not much they could provide.

Second reason is all the Anti-semetic feelings among the Muslim nations. any involvement by the Israelis would spark such a war as to make the current Conflict in Iraq look tame.

During Desert Storm Israel want to join the 23 nation coalition to help Kuwait gain her freedom back from Iraq. It would have been a 24 nation coalition. It would have been a case of a Jewish Nation(Israel) assisting in the defense of an Islamic Nation(Kuwait). but it would also have been a case of a Jewish Nation(Israel) attacking an Islamic Nation(Iraq) and all the other Islamic Nations would have none of that and would have destroyed the coalition.

USA quietly thanked Israel for their offer but asked them to stay out of it for that very reason. Israel stood aside and offered only moral support instead. Saddam knowing what would happen if Israel entered the war, Intentionally targetted his Scuds on Israel hoping to provoke a response. Whith pledges from the US to actively hunt down the Scuds and with the provision of Patriot SAM Batteries to Israel, they chose to stay out even as they were being attacked knowing it was for the better.

It is the only time in History that I can think of where Israel showed restraint in matters of defense or allowed her defense to reside in the hands of others.

Learn a little more history before you go off accusing an ally of non-support.

Israel is the lightning rod thart could escalate this into a regional war. Many moderate Arab country's would join in the fray against the US, UK, and Israel. As long as Israel stays out of it, so will the moderate Arabs.

Understand something. Much of what is happening today in the middle east, is because of the US's alliance with Israel. The Arabs despise our stand in favor of Israel. It's a delicate balance for the US to remain friendly with Arab country's when they know our politics. The US has certainly asked Israel not to get involved in this war, however, it's a matter of time before Israel decides to take out Irans nuclear facility if the US doesn't do something about it, soon !

They have been asked to stay out of the conflict because their involvement would only polarize this community further against the alliance (if you call this an alliance). The majority of the Arabic nations consider the whole existence of Israel a misfortune theft of land by the Israelis.Remember they were asked not to respond when they were being hit by scud missiles, we did everything to protect them and keep them out of the conflict (patriot missile systems). They are probably working in the background providing information through their intelligence services to the allies.They have plenty of problems with the Palestinian neighbors and other terrorists groups. Because they are being restrained by the US, ever since Desert Storm. Even when Saddam was launching Skuds into Israel, Bush (#41) asked them not to retaliate, that the US would fight their battles.
