As a general rule i try to bring less when I'm going places, but since you are not going on a plane, bring what you feel you will use at least once. Don't forget a swimsuit for las vegas, plus some cool clothing, remember at night it can be cool though so bring a light jacket. If you have the money try to see a good show. The Bellagio is a very good buffet, (Worth it even for the price). Hope this helped.

Edit: okay ... some of the below you may not HAVE to have, though it's never a bad idea.... when someone says "road trip" I think in terms of days, not hours, in driving time ... four hours is just a little jaunt ;) HAVE FUN!!!
Cell phone, paid up, always keep batteries half charged or more, and get one of those AA cell phone battery boosters.
Have your car tuned up and looked at before traveling, including having tires rotated, and checked.
Have an emergency kit: flares, $200 cash, road assistance plan, jumper cables,
Keep extra water and energy bars in the car for emergency use only.
Maps and directions.
Extra money , lol ... key to travel is take half the clothing you think you will need and twice the money...!!

I'm a frequent traveller and this packing list from onebag.com really never fails. It's complete but you can adjust or delete the items not applicable to you.
Stick to it and you will have a good time!
