If you do not believe that, what year (by your guestimate) would Tyson no longer be able to beat Lewis?

"NO" is not an answer. That why I added the details. With all respect, read both parts. I look forward to the answers. Thank you :)

Tyson would have beat him if they fought 6-7 years earlier.

Tysons style of fighting he needs to be sharp fast and quick. Bob, weave , Eat a few jabs and land his power shots.

He's short and stocky - Majority of his opponents we're taller with a longer reach.

Boxers such as lewis with a great jab have longevity in boxing, When their skills start to diminish they can still survive with their jab.

But when your short have short arms and you can move as quickly all you have is a fighters punch left.

Bottom line Tyson's style of fighting has no longevity..

If Lewis fought him once a month for the next 2 years he'd go 24 and 0.

A prime Lewis beats a prime Tyson

Emmanuel Steward is the reason why Lewis became such a great boxer. He knew exactly how to get the best out of Lewis. I think Tyson would've been able to beat Lewis had they fought in late 80s or early 90s. Why? well..that's when Tyson was at his very best and Lewis wasn't.

This time Blogbaba eat me to the punch.

Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis fought as amateurs, and Tyson got his a** handed to him. Despite what many thought, it wasnt Lewis that was ducking Tyson, it was the other way around.

Same could be said of Riddick Bowe, who rather than fight Lewis, threw his belt in the trash.

Mike was also suspect to anyone with an authoritive jab. He could only fight moving forward.

As amateurs Lewis and Tyson sparred. Lewis embarrassed Tyson bad enough that Cus D'Amato stopped the sparring session.

No way. Lewis picked and chose all his fights including Mike Tyson at the right time. When they were down in there careers. I think once mike lost in japan that was it for him. He carried razor ruddock in both those fights when lewis knocked that bum out in what a round? I never thought lennox was a good fighter. he just picked his opponents at there worst times in there careers.

I don't see Lewis ever losing to Tyson, I just don't believe Mike was as dominate as his record and early perfomance imply.

personally no...early in Mikes career he had focus and was fearless, I also thought Bowe and Hollyfield would have handled him earlier in his career also...Lewis was always pretty good, but was tons better after Emanuel picked him up...there was a marked difference in his style after he got Emanuel who had trained a number of champions...he was more efficient throwing power punches behind his jab (which also improved) and was straight line attacking and using his reach much better than he had previously...

IF THEY FOUGHT IN THEIR PRIMES, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A CLOSER FIGHT.
