There are also billions of dollars and millions of hours spent by Christians every year to help the homeless and take care of needy families-- no strings attached.
We pray because Our Father loves hearing from us. He loves spending time with us and just like any parent He enjoys it when we take our concerns to Him.
I do not worship Mary. And according to the trinity -God,Jesus and Holy Spirit are one!
A few bad apples and you throw out the whole bushel-find me a group anywhere that doesn't have some hypocrites. We do not condone the actions of those that you are speaking of. But as Christians we recognize that we are not perfect and that we need God's saving grace to heal us-that's the point.
Some Christians do believe in evolution.
There is a lot of historical and archaeological finds which validate the writings of the Bible -which is not a book of fiction.
Do you find it illogical that one man once walked the earth over 2000 years ago and still has billions of followers? Of course it's illogical-our human brains can not comprehend it. Can you at least admit that there are things in the world that you do not understand because you have never experienced them?

Hey, wow I'm so sorry you feel this way.
"You shall not murder" yet the crusades. isnt christianity suppose to be about love and passion towards your brothers? --**I wasn't involved in that....don't blame all Christians for some ppl's mistakes.**--
the riches "religion/busniess" spends millions of dollars on building churches, instead of further helping the homeless/ needy familys. --**My church goes to Mexico, Africa, & several other places & does amazing mission work. It's a wonderful experience. They even do this thing where for a few days they are homeless...no food, water, showers, nada...they give to the poor, help the needy, do lots of volunteer stuff. My church is a sactuary for the homeless & poor. It's sad that you're unaware of this.*--
God is everywhere and knows everything, so why do they pray?? **--Prayer is a way of communicating w/ God. Think of a married couple...they lives, eat, sleep together...but they can't survive without communication. Prayer is a way of connecting with God.**--
One god, yet they worship idols like Mary, Jesusand The Holy Spirit. **--WHOA WHOA WHOA, wait a second. I don't know where you heard that from but the whole Mary thing is wrong. Jesus is the son of God... God sent him here for US. We don't worship the holy spirt--it's in us.--**
Their priest molest children.....**--anyone could be....come on now, don't be silly...not all Christian priests do that!--**
And theyre sexist......**--UM WHAT?! I'm not.--**
They dispell the evolution theory, yet more facts and logic is present than any religion. --**Then tell me why every fact in history can be proved by the Bible...& no fact in history has ever disproved the Bible.**--
Is it unlogical just to believe a person wrote a fictional book, sum guy took it to heart, one thing lead to another, and a CULT was formed. --**Goodness, you have a lot of anger & misinterpretations; I think you need to dig a little deeper before you go off saying things like that.**--

Not all Christians are like what you're saying. Sure, some are of course, but some are not. Some christians are full of rubbish and totally contradict themselves all the time, but some seem to have it right.
Christians pray because Christianity is about having a relationship with God. They pray because God told us to in the Bible.
Sure, Catholics worship Mary, which is not biblical, but Christians and catholics are a bit different.
Christians believe that God is three people in one - God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. Sort of like an apple - one apple, but with skin, flesh and core. We worship all three because all three are one God.
Not all priests molest children - very few do, and these priests have done terrible things. Some Christians are actually smart and wouldn't follow retards who would do things like that.
Not all Christians are sexist.
Evolution has no proof. It is a theory. There are no fossills from in between the 'original animals' and the current ones. There are no transitory fossills. How can people believe it's true. Christians believe in Creation because it's more logical, and because they believe the Bible, which tells us the world was created by God.
Maybe you just haven't met Christians yet who represent who God really is. Some churches have normal people, wearing normal clothes, listening to normal music, leading normal lives. Young people who like to listen to rock music and have fun out late on a saturday night. Try and find one of these churches if u think all christians are like what u described.
lastly, christianity isn't a cult. Some churches have turned it into sort of a cult, but that is the church, not the religion. Look for a church that lets you lead ur own life, doesn't try to cut you off from the outside world, and doesn't order your life for you, because that is what a cult is.
I hope you meet some really awesome people who can change your mind about christians.

While I'll agree that the past isn't untarnished, I will also say that science plays a role in it as well. Religion alone cannot fight wars, it is ideological, as well as bending for the will of the people to suit the times. You'll notice even the bible changes how God interacts with people given the different time periods and necessity.
Anyhow, science advances machines, and processes, which can be used for good or bad, the bad being weapons. Religion did not invent the atomic bomb.
But science as well is subject to the greater want of the people.
So neither one is better than the other, or less tarnished, they merely play their roles in our society.
However what is sad is that one must have either religion or science, it seems backwards to be so divisive. One should have both without having to contradict themselves.

. For starters, the Crusades to the East were in every way defensive wars. They were a direct response to Muslim aggression—an attempt to turn back or defend against Muslim conquests of Christian lands.
Christians in the eleventh century were not paranoid fanatics. Muslims really were gunning for them. While Muslims can be peaceful, Islam was born in war and grew the same way. From the time of Mohammed, the means of Muslim expansion was always the sword. Muslim thought divides the world into two spheres, the Abode of Islam and the Abode of War. Christianity—and for that matter any other non-Muslim religion—has no abode. Christians and Jews can be tolerated within a Muslim state under Muslim rule. But, in traditional Islam, Christian and Jewish states must be destroyed and their lands conquered. When Mohammed was waging war against Mecca in the seventh century, Christianity was the dominant religion of power and wealth. As the faith of the Roman Empire, it spanned the entire Mediterranean, including the Middle East, where it was born. The Christian world, therefore, was a prime target for the earliest caliphs, and it would remain so for Muslim leaders for the next thousand years.
With enormous energy, the warriors of Islam struck out against the Christians shortly after Mohammed’s death. They were extremely successful. Palestine, Syria, and Egypt—once the most heavily Christian areas in the world—quickly succumbed. By the eighth century, Muslim armies had conquered all of Christian North Africa and Spain. In the eleventh century, the Seljuk Turks conquered Asia Minor (modern Turkey), which had been Christian since the time of St. Paul. The old Roman Empire, known to modern historians as the Byzantine Empire, was reduced to little more than Greece. In desperation, the emperor in Constantinople sent word to the Christians of western Europe asking them to aid their brothers and sisters in the East.
That is what gave birth to the Crusades. They were not the brainchild of an ambitious pope or rapacious knights but a response to more than four centuries of conquests in which Muslims had already captured two-thirds of the old Christian world. At some point, Christianity as a faith and a culture had to defend itself or be subsumed by Islam. The Crusades were that defense.
Christian charities feeds and clothes and provides housing and medicine for multitudes of people thru out the world.
Why do we pray? That is part of our worship, it is also a way of seeking forgiveness for our sins, if you dont ask for it you do not receive.
No the Catholics do not worship idols or statues. We worship God Almighty. Worshipping a statue would mean we dont worship God..
Iam not excusing the barely 1% of all catholic priests that abused children, they did wrong and they will answer for it.
What have you done to stop pedophiles in the public school systems, the police force, the fire departments, protestant churches, sport coaches, homeland security, babysitters, mothers, fathers etc.?

To enlighten you:
YOU should read history of Christianity, and then you will know that the traditions came when non-biblical doctrines entered the church. Most of what you say is not applied for non-catholic Christians, the ones based on the Bible, like the early Christians.
Enlightened enough ????

When you get to studying the crusades, you will find that there were many unChirstian things that pulled men to war in Jerusalem. Many misconceptions and politics. Pehaps you will stop blaming those that are alive today for the crusades. Maybe anyways.

Strange,
After making such an embarrising question, let me "enlighten" you...
"God is everywhere and knows everything, so why do they pray?? "...... Let me ask you, if you were married, do you have to stop loving or showing affection to your spouse just because "you sealed the deal'?? (answer that and you'll get an answer)
You confuse idolity for Christianity and abuse of religion for it too------Let me just put it this way...
You never judge a worldview by its abuse, you judge it by its founder......tell me something bad Jesus did and then I'll take you seriously.

Yep, unlogical....
Just wanted to point out, not ALL churches are building huge churches. My church is small, and we help people who need help. We dont even have a running church bus, we use our cars if need be. We dont have a whole lot of money. But God provides.

hmmm...
Christian law is to love God and to love your neighbor.
There have been and are many people who call themselves Christians who do not attempt to follow Christian law.
You are responsible for your fate following physical death. I truly do wish you well.
