You have finite knowledge. Not infinite knowledge. That means that you have quite the handicap, and you are unable to know the answers to all things. Given this fact, how can you conclude that God had to be "created"? Since you cannot even begin to conceive how things were created here on earth, nor the mind of God, how can you boldly state that you know that God couldn't have "always been"?

Scripture tells us that God has "always been". He was created by no one or anything. And that is the information that He has given us, and the information our finite minds can understand.

So until you gain some wisdom that exceeds all humanity, and even God, I think your conclusion is dead in the water.

In Gnostic Christianity God came into being, he did not just always exist (although God is first consciousness). How or why God came into being is not explained. God is light or a spiritual energy. When God came into being darkness and matter separated from the light and created this universe. The realm of light is called the Pleroma. (Interestingly, science has discovered a thing called anti-matter and some scientists have developed a theory about the existence of an anti-universe. This theory parallels Gnostic thought about two separate realms, one of matter and one devoid of matter.)

In reality we can not know the answer to this question, our knowledge is limited. Maybe one day we will get the chance to ask God in person.

Ugh, I hate to argue religion, but here goes.

You're linear, you exist in 3 dimensions, plus the time dimension. You are bound by these, you cannot escape them, it is impossible. However it is not to say it is the only reality, or the only place something can exist.

Think of a flat piece of paper, that's basically 2 dimensional space. Now imagine if something lived on that 2d space. If you stick your finger on the paper, they would just see the 2d interaction of your finger at that point, they would not be able to at all perceive the rest of you.

In theory, this is how God would work, God would be extra-dimensional, and his interactions here wouldn't be limited like ours. He would not be limited by the 3d universe, and likely not by time, sooooo in theory he could be omnipresent and non-linear, which means he'd have no point of birth and no point of death.

That's the way I understand a god concept, it's sort of odd. Hope it makes sense.

Do you understand the Pythagoras Theorem? Theory of relativity? Rate of transfer of motion? Data Transfer Mechanism?

Or do you understand how a processor works in the computer you used to type this question? Do you understand the binary language? Do you fully understand the operating system that you use to run all of your programs?

Or do you understand the tax system? do you know how file a tax claim without using a CPA? Do you know how the mortgage system works and how to calculate APR?

If we can't understand all the things created by us humans how can we understand something much more complex? Our minds are limited our thoughts are limited.

We learn through relativity ... we know there is night because of the day and we know there is a day because of the night.

We dint know the inner workings of the processor because we didn't go to school to learn that. There are many simple things we can't understand ... how can we expect ourselves to understand what God is!?!

Who created God?
It is an age-old question that has plagued all those who like to think about the big questions. Various religions tend to solve the problem in different ways. The LDS church (Mormonism) says that the God to whom we are accountable (Elohim) had a father god, then grew up on a planet as a man, and progressed to become a god himself. Many other religions have claimed that gods beget other gods. Of course the problem with this idea is who is the first god and how did he get here?

Christianity's answer:

Christianity answers the question of who created God in the very first verse of the very first book, Genesis:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1)

This verse tells us that God was acting before time when He created the universe. Many other verses from the New Testament tells us that God was acting before time began, and so, He created time, along with the other dimensions of our universe:

No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. (1 Corinthians 2:7)
This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time (2 Timothy 1:9)
The hope of eternal life, which God... promised before the beginning of time (Titus 1:2)
To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 1:25)

God exists in timeless eternity:

How does this get around the problem of God's creation? There are two possible interpretations of these verses. One is that God exists outside of time. Since we live in a universe of cause and effect, we naturally assume that this is the only way in which any kind of existence can function. However, the premise is false. Without the dimension of time, there is no cause and effect, and all things that could exist in such a realm would have no need of being caused, but would have existed from eternity. Therefore, God created the time dimension of our universe specifically for a reason - so that cause and effect would exist for us.

God exists in multiple dimension of time:

The second interpretation is that God exists in more than one dimension of time. Things that exist in one dimension of time are restricted to time's arrow and are confined to cause and effect. However, two dimension of time form a plane of time, which has no beginning and no single direction. A being that exists in at least two dimension of time can travel anywhere in time and never had a beginning, since a plane of time has no starting point. Either interpretation leads one to the conclusion that God has no need of having been created.

Why can't the universe be eternal?:

The idea that God can be eternal leads us to the idea that maybe the universe is eternal, and, therefore, God doesn't need to exist at all. Actually, this was the prevalent belief of atheists before the observational data of the 20th century strongly refuted the idea that the universe was eternal. This fact presented a big dilemma for atheists, since a non-eternal universe implied that it must have been caused. Maybe Genesis 1:1 was correct! Not to be dismayed by the facts, atheists have invented some metaphysical "science" to attempt to explain away the existence of God. Hence, most atheistic cosmologists believe that we see only the visible part of a much larger "multiverse" that randomly spews out universes with different physical parameters.1 Since there is no evidence supporting this idea (nor can there be, according to the laws of the universe), it is really just a substitute "god" for atheists. And, since this "god" is non-intelligent by definition, it requires a complex hypothesis, which would be ruled out if we use Occam's razor, which states that one should use the simplest logical explanation for any phenomenon. Purposeful intelligent design of the universe makes much more sense, especially based upon what we know about the design of the universe.

Conclusion:

God has No need to have been created, since He exists either outside time (where cause and effect do not operate) or within multiple dimensions of time (such that there is no beginning of a plane of time). Hence God is eternal, having never been created. Although it is possible that the universe itself is eternal, eliminating the need for its creation, observational evidence contradicts this hypothesis, since the universe began to exist only ~13.7 billion years ago. The only possible escape for the atheist is the invention of a kind of super universe, which can never be confirmed experimentally (hence it is metaphysical in nature, and not scientific).

I'm going to say it anyway, God always was. I know it's hard for our human minds to comprehend but that is just because GOD created us to live in TIME. God is outside of time. Time is just something he made. Imagine a place without time and that's where God is.

our mind is limited and was created for this life. We try to imagine things in a simplified way to make our brain capable for accepting such a question or idea.
you will go crazy if you keep thinking about that.

Therefore: No answer for your question because I haven't met god and asked him. Will let you know if I get lucky ;)

He tells us that He has always been here. I am Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end.

Please don't tell us that we can't give that answer. You asked and we tell you what God says about a subject. That is the only answer a Christian can give. It is hard for me to comprehend also, but He says it and I believe and trust Him. Peace.
