If you think only your religion or God is right, why?

(Remember, no quoting a text. To an outsider that's certainly not proof. )

Why do you believe your religion or God is the only way, and all others are necessarily wrong?

Do you have any good evidence?

T-Time, I appreciate that. I'm not talking about the only way for you, I mean people that think their religion or God is the only way for EVERYBODY.

Debbie, are you quoting a text?

It's the only way for me - there's no text or scriptures, it's all written in nature.

I understand your question...I can't say why anyone else would think that their God is the only way. That's ludicrous.

My evidence is reason:

There are three great monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam (and I don't take the polytheistic religions seriously).

Each religion has a book, and each book states that it contains the only way. If one of them is right, then all other ways are wrong.

The Jewish Torah contains Messianic prophecies, types, and symbols. The Jews assert that the Messiah has not arrived yet, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary contained in the New Testament.

Jesus Christ fulfilled all of the prophecies in the Torah and other books of the Old Testament. He also fits all the messianic types and symbols, which foreshadow the Messiah. Taken together (i.e., the Torah, other Old Testament Books, and the New Testament), the contents create a complete and cohesive whole.

The Quran contains many similarities but ultimately contradicts both of the preceding accounts. Muslims believe that Jewish and Christian holy texts were divine revelations given to prophets, but they were corrupted by men. So God sent his final revelation in the form of the Quran--and He has preserved every word over the ensuing centuries. However, this raises the question: If God could preserve His words in one book, then why not in the other two?

Muslims also use passages in the Torah and the Bible to legitimize the Quran, while at the same time saying that the earlier two texts were corrupted, and therefore no longer valid. You can't have it both ways.

The Bible is the only one that is both complete and internally consistent. That's why I choose Christianity.

How do I knw that my "religion" (Christianity is a relationship with God, not a religion) is the only way? Besides my personal experience in a relationship with God, I've examined the evidence of the claims of the Bible--archaeological, historical, literary and, ultimately, spiritual--and have found that they explain why we're here, what has happened that we ended up here and what God has planned for us better than anything or anyone else. The historical evidence continues to pile up (no pun intended), but more significantly the evidence of Jesus Christ's transformation of true believers' lives brings about a dimension that cannot be explained except to confirm that there is something significant about Him that makes Him unlike anyone else. Having said that, I won't quote any texts for you, but if you'd like to know where to start looking, I'd be happy to help. :-)

The only evidence I have is my existence. There have been times when I thought I for sure would not make it another day and with prayer I have. I have overcome huge obstacles with nothing but God. He meets me every time I think I am at the end of my rope with just exactly what I need. Even when I went through a period of time when I ignored my faith anytime I was in trouble I could not help but to turn to him. God is so real to me!
I do not necessarily think others are wrong when they are talking about their religion. Some might be a little misguided, when they think it takes all of these rituals. It is a matter of relationship and faith to receive God's grace, not how you practice religion. It is what is in your heart, not your works.

Without quoting a text, I can oly give you personal evidence.

This comes from the former Communist Yugoslavia, where my family used to live.

There life was good. the country hosted olyimpics, won medals, even exported cars to the US (the Yugo). Yugoslavia was a model for all communist countries. It was even a model for tolerance. But they were strong communists, which meant they were even stronger atheists.

So what do you think was their reaction to a bunch of Franciscan priests who one day claimed to have seen apparitions of the Virgin Mary? They would laugh of course. But what if suddenly they started telling everybody to pray for peace in Yugoslavia.

What? pray for peace? Do they mean to say there will be a war? They were put in prison, featured in all newspapers as oponents of the state saying stupid things. Yes, they said there will be a war in Yugoslavia.

The war did come and it was dirty, you guys know all about it.
In ten years and 4 separate wars, Yugoslavia became famous for introducing a brand new term to humanity not seen before: ethnic cleansing.

Now, with failed nationalism, failed communism, unemployment, crime, and divided families, whats the only thing left for people? Is it a surprise that in my home town they replaced the red cross on the city hall with a cross?

So you see, this is the evidence I can give: people know something now they didnt before. Life is hard, but God is always present especially in hard times.

Why do I think my God is the right one? Look what happened in Yugoslavia.

And with all the in chaos in this world, do people need God more than ever, or is God the cause of it all? I personally think people need to stop their yelling on both sides and start to actually listen to their God.

Who has the true God? I dont know, Lets wait and see: whoever is on the side of peace has the true God.

If you are looking for proof you will never find it. The atheists, the evolutionists ,the Christians... need faith to believe in what they believe. The only thing I can say is seeing Gods hand in your life or the changed life of a person that was obviously not so great, into a person that is more like Jesus or if you dont want names, into a person that is "good" and all that that implies when they believe in Jesus or God. Im sorry I cant prove it to you or anyone else, but I can feel Him, even through prayers answered and Not answered. He is working in my life and I hope you can find Him too. Its too lonely without Him.

Hello,

Frist...
I would like to say that being a christian is not a religion(rules & regulations). Being a christian is a lifestyle that I live according to my faith in Jesus Christ.
Second...
Simply I can say personally that if you want to know the Truth, The Way, & if GOD is real ask Him to reveal, that you may know. I challenge you to challenge GOD. I know He's real, thats why I can say that?
Third...
Good evidence;YES, you can test GOD ALMIGHTY to see if he exist.( Example) gravity, I cant feel, smell, tast, or hold gravity . But I can test gavity by jumping off a 20 stori building, You know the results of that right?? The same with GOD ALMIGHTY, test Him with Life & Death. After you die. you see what happens next. Then you'll find out He exist. Just because dont belive, dont mean He dont exist. For some it will be a disappointing time, because they refused to believe & trust in what GOD Said...(Bible) . Then it will be to late, God said He will give every man what they deserve!!! Some heaven , other distruction(Hell). Your choice, Choose...

The answer to your question is another question i.e. "Why every mother thinks that her kids are always right and others are not?"

Its a matter of belief. Some (who believe in God) thinks that God is the way to go and vice versa.

There is no set definition or rules behind believing in God or a supreme being just like there is no set rules or definitions in choosing your favorite actor or actress.

I may like one whole heatedly and you may completely disagree with that.

No evidence of the denial of God can be enough for a believer and no evidence of the existence of God can be enough for disbelievers.

1). I can only tell you that I have a very real and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I have personally witnessed miracles including the undeniable and unexplainable healing of my daughter. God has revealed Himself to me in unmistakable and beautiful ways.

2) My Lord-the great 'I AM' says that I am to have no other Gods before Him. For this reason He is the ONLY way for me and for the same reason I do not deny that there are other forces in the world.

3) good evidence-that depends on how open minded you are. The things that I can tell you may sound crazy, if you have never experienced them. Many can not imagine what it means to have a relationship with Jesus but I tell you that He is as real and as personal as my husband is.
e-mail me if you want more detailed evidence.

when i was 3 i died of accidental overdose of aspirin. experienced something, wether a vision or the actual happening, i dont know, but it is and always will be to me all the evidence i need. Jesus welcomed me and sat me on HIS lap and told me i couldnt come home yet, it wasnt my time. HE sat me upon a white horse and showed me an opossum. because of this experience, i have always felt close to GOD. when i needed comfort as a child, all i need do was ask for a hug, and i was comforted so completely that i knew beyond doubt that i had been hugged. i nearly drowned twice in one day, due to my own stupidity. GOD made me breathe water until i reached the surface of the lake where i exhaled huge amounts of water. i never knew until i was an adult that it is impossible to inhale water without drowning. and that once inhaled you cant exhale it on your own, it must be pushed out.
i relate just a few of my experiences to show why i believe that what the Holy Bible teaches is the only way. i have, in truth i cannot doubt, that GOD exists. so if GOD exists, then the bible is HIS word. if this is so, then what it says is truth. and if what it says is truth then there is only one true and living GOD that created all things and all life. and for those who accept HIS sacrifice and obey HIS commandments, there will be eternal life...but for those who reject and deny HIM there will be eternal damnation.

your skepticism is justified because everybody is claiming the same thing---exclusivity. Just dont forget that by definition, Truth is EXclusive. So when Jesus says he is the way to God, he did not say "a" way to God.

Look at the Christian message, >God became a man and died for you (specifically by name) so that you could come back to him. It was the pastor Max Lucado that said,

"it wasnt nails that held my Lord to the cross, it was love"

"out of all the places in the universe God could of choosen to live, he chose your heart"----the Christian faith is the only faith that really gives you forgiveness.

In a world FULL of pain, God proves to me and you that he is not immune to it.
