How to turn off automatic searching for drivers when I insert a USB tuner card.?

I ask this because Vista crashes every time it goes to look for drivers, when I have already installed them.

You can't, you have installed XP drivers, which don't work with Vista.

Go to the USB Tuner manufacturer's web site and see if Vista drivers are available.
